Captain America IW Special 1 Masochism

Device and Version: iPhone XR

Device Operating System: iOS v12

Mobile Carrier: Virgin Mobile

Cellular or WiFi: n/a

Game Version Installed: latest.

Game Mode: Ultrons Assault Variant chapter 3.1

Champions Affected: Captain America IW

Active Boosts: No

Description of the Issue: When fighting various opponents in Variant Ultrons assault chapter three where there is a global masochism node, Captain America IW’s special one triggers masochism, even though it is supposed to reduce ability accuracy 100% which I assume includes masochism since that is how Sabertooth works with the Killmonger synergy.

i read this before.. and ur response is gonna be "working as intended" because that debuff works as a passive attribute so abilty mods wont effect it.. thats the best answer your gonna get

Why does CAIW not work against machoism but KM /ST does..

One of them is not working as intended.

Would love to see an answer to this

Working as intended I believe. Masochism is an "offensive" ability as far as I know. CAIW special 1 gives 100% reduction to "defensive" abilities (when kinetically charged). ST w/ KM synergy gives 100% reduction on ALL ability accuracy (since not restricted) on debuffs. Proxima gives 200% "offensive" ability accuracy reduction on blocks (including well-timed parries) which is why she avoid masochism with stun from parry.

The main issue is the game needs to give more clarification on champions and nodes at times on what falls under offensive, defensive, other ability types so you know if your specific AAR may apply. Some are obviously as they character info states "when attacked" (defensive) or "when attacking" (offensive) but other abilities are not as clear such as tenacity type effects from AV (offensive I think), KP (offensive I think), KG (might be defensive since from what I recall Proxima doesn't work), and Korg (offensive I think). Then there are things like Magik Limbo which can be triggered offensively, defensively, or I believe more passively (MD etc). Also items like Magik Limbo has I believe three ability accuracy checks 1) proc, 2) damage, 3) heal at end - or at least seems that way at times?

A simple suggestion is maybe for nodes next to name of ability put in brackets an "O" for offensive, "D" for Defensive, and whatever other letters needed to people know ability type (can do same on character info sheets). And then provide community the definition of those terms and what AAR applies if not obvious

Interesting... though now I am confused that both CAIW and Proxima seem to work on masochism... at least pretty sure proxima works

Surely maso is a defensive ability
It is granting a benifit to the defender when you do something.
    Clearly defensive.

    Caiw works 100% on maso
