    Something related to Marvel.
Nothing related to the game at all

not a marvel fan i assume?
i would have thought only marvel fans play MCOC.
i would have thought all marvel fans knew Stan Lees' saying.

It's not as though Stan made the word up; it's Latin from at least the 1800s, meaning "ever upward".

Well I know that. There are hotels named Excelsior, but I had never imagined an entire island.

Ya that's the case with few of my friends who started playing the game even if they didn't even knew that Batman was not a part of marvel. That's called influence.

Um, Latin dates back to before the birth of Christ. Excelsior is older than dirt.

    Yeah I do lol.
No one lives there but you can book a boat to it. This island has beautiful beaches and it's famous for snorkeling. You can also spot some wildlife. This Island gets overshadowed by the more famous ones, Havelock Island, Ross Island but it's good. This island's beaches are so clean and creamy.

Classical Latin predates Christ, but New Latin dates from around 1300-1900. Both the Oxford and Merriam-Webster dictionaries put the earliest recorded usage of "excelsior" around the late 18th century; I think I'll trust them over you.
