Rocket's permanent shield vs havok

NikhilNikhil Member Posts: 101
Havok's abilities says that after he applies 10 of those charges on opponent it bursts and deals damage but no damage if Armor up is active.
So, when rocket activates his armor up after dashing back etc.., he still takes damage when havok applies 10 of those charges..
This shouldn't be happening.

    Are they armor up buffs?
Do you have a screenshot of it?

It’s because his shield doesn’t fall under armor up buff lol

    Are they armor up buffs?
Do you have a screenshot of it?

I don't have screenshot of the match but it clearly says here that Armor up buff.

It's applied through his Shield, not an actual Armor Up Buff. That's the effect, but not specifically an Armor Up.

I understand. But I think they should work against havok. At least some use of Rocket's shield 😅

Granted, I agree that he's squishy, but he's still one of the harder hitters. I won't give up on our little Trash Panda. XD

It doesn't say it is a armor up buff.
So I assume it's working as intended

Exactly. It doesn't say 4 charges of armor up buffs. So they are not armor up buffs, and they are the same armors given by the optimist/pessimist node, the same that Sentinel gets after a sp3, or the same armor's that IW Iron Man triggers during the fight.
Not buffs. They will not interact as buffs.

    It says armor up only.
If it does not say buff then one would assume it is passive.for some reason you are deciding to add buff when you read it.
It does not say buff. It is an armor up passive

Maybe you activated the wrong shield and thats why you suffered the damage? if you had a screenshot of your raccoon taking damage even with the correct shield it would make your case clearer.

Actually, 4 charges of “Armor Up” is easily interpreted as 4 Armor Up buffs. I understand it may not be working this way, which is the ultimate determinant of what was intended (or should be, unless it works too much in your advantage, in which case it could be termed an “exploit”), but the capitalization and mention of “charges” (written waaay before we had the persistent charges we have in game today) would suggest something like buffs.

Like I said, if it doesn’t work, then there’s your answer for now. But it’s definitely arguable that those should be the traditional Armor Up buffs, unless there is something specifically called an Armor Up charge in game. I simply can’t think of any such thing at the moment.

They used to be buffs don’t know when they became passive
  • Kobster84Kobster84 Member Posts: 2,898 ★★★★★

They are now passive for some reason

That looks like an Armor Up buff to me. Is that what it looks like now?

EDIT: I don’t think it has that white outline any longer.

That was in a time when buffs and passive abilities looked the same. It always was a passive ability despite the way it looked

I bet you it could be nullified back then

you will see however when u use it that it is infact the passive style icon being used not the buff style icon
which is why they change passives and buffs to be different to stop any confusion.
