Cooldown between posts on forums

There are posts that fast become chat rooms between a few members, topics often derailing into petty discussions or going offtopic because of some incessant argument.

My suggestion: after posting, 30 minutes cooldown before being able to post again.

    >.> So 30 minutes between each response? No. Maybe people want a active convo about the subject at hand like say some announcement and having a cooldown there is stupid

I would agree on a cooldown per thread created, but not for a reply.

What I see often is incessant bickering, topic hijacking and post spamming. I dont call that a construtive discussion. I also dont consider an argument between 2 people over 2 or 3 pages a forum discussion, more like a chat room. Cooldown would allow others their turn to speak. Make it 10, 15, minutes, then. Anyway, just a suggestion.

You get a cool down when you break the rules
