Lose war rating if no war played?

During off-season if our alliance chooses to take a break from war for the two weeks will we lose war rating? I've heard different answers in the past. I wouldn't think so but would hate to drop a tier by not participating in meaningless wars.

    if you don't do anything to raise or lower your rating (by participating in wars), how on earth do you think that number will be raised or lowered? if you're confusing that with your alliance rating, that's an entirely different issue you got there.

    Nope have had people say that their "war" rating dropped by not participating in wars. Just confirming what seems obvious though. As who knows when it comes to this game, what seems obvious isn't always the case 😂

    I know that you can move in and out of tiers based on other alliances raising their rating or theirs being lowered but figure a two week freeze wouldn't kill us. We're in tier 6

    Who are these people who have told you that WAR RATING can change if you don’t run a war ? Unless it was a late DOCKING for infractions that resulted in War Rating reduction (but they don't dock WR anymore, just your Season Points I believe).

    That’s different, however, from your Tier #, which could indeed change as other teams (who do run wars) have their War Rating raised or lowered.
    But with a freeze in WR for those in Tier 1-5 (??, and if indeed they are doing that again this time), doubt any of them could fall below you, but others below might move up above you.

    Just people who have moved in and then out of the alliance. Just wanted to make sure I was sending us in the right direction is all. I appreciate the feedback from everyone. Just confirms what I thought I knew lol

    I have a question, will those in tier 1-5 of AW drop their war tier by losing? i know war rating is locked, but what about war tier?

    War Rating won't change, but others playing will, so your position can shift depending on who advances or loses while you're inactive.

    For those in 1-5, doesn’t matter whether you win/lose. But those below you that are in Tier 6 could move up above you by winning (for those near the border of 5/6). And if that means them jumping up into 5 with you falling to 6, then in theory they should then become locked for next War while you would then have moved into getting either a +/- WR change in your next War now in 6.
