how to spend beacons?

I am a long time player but recently took a gap for a few months, now I will only end up with 3 beacons by the time this beacon thing comes around. I'd just like to know if I will be able to use these without having all 4? can I spend them individually or something?

If you only have 2 currently, then you have missed one. Think the reward is only gonna be a special Profile Pic, so no big loss.
