Cavalier Crystal in Store sucks!

As far as feedbacks are of concern, I think the drop rates for the Cavalier crystal in the store is terrible given you'd have to spend real dollars. I decided to close one account, got a few dollars in there and decided to throw it in the game. Taking it slow with those crystals by going for the class I want but nothing good, 3stars the best was a 4star. The game is indirectly an online casino. You win big one day and most days terrible, at least for me. Those crystal in the store should have a better drop rates than the ones purchased with units. And 3 stars should be remove from it, its Cavalier for the title sake and it being bought with real money.
There's a halal guys near, it's better to call a few friends and spread them with some gyros and platters.

You don't have to spend real dollars on cavalier crystals. And any crystal that has all champs 3* to 6*, you will pull garbage most of the time. It's been like that since it came out, why are people so surprised by it. Of course drop rates suck, otherwise everyone would pull every champ and this game would die quickly.

I agree with you on not spending real money on those crystals, maybe not at all. Like I said, would have a good time at halal guys with the rest of the cash spreading some friends. Don't agree with you regarding drop rates. I'm not saying make it 80% 5/6 stars. Should be better if real money is used. Plus, not everyone spends real money on this game. Even slightly improved drop rates will still scare guys away just cos its RNG.

First off, that's just RNG. Secondly, unless the cavalier crystals are a significantly price than the ones offered for units, then they shouldn't have better drop rates. Think about this. A featured cavalier is ten dollars a pop. If a player spends 300 units versus someone spending ten dollars, they should still get the same drop rates and everything because it's still currency being spent, regardless if it's tangible or not.

    Yeah, it is supposed to.

In a perfect world no one would spend money and no one would get anything except through game play. But in the real world it takes money to make a game. So you either have to charge a subscription to everyone so everyone pays the same thing, in which case all free to play players can no longer play at all, or you sell advantages over everyone else for cash.

The values in the cash offers aren't great, because they aren't supposed to be great most of the time, because its not about what you get for cash, it is about how much of an advantage you need over the other players to be willing to spend cash. If you need a lot of advantage over the other players, we don't need your money. There are *tons* of players willing to spend lots of money that *don't* need a huge advantage per dollar over all the other players in the game. We want *their* money, because last I checked that was $250 million dollars of money; plenty enough to support the game. The game doesn't need, and doesn't want your money if you need more stuff for your cash.

If you think the values in the offers are not good, then you shouldn't spend. But you have to realize that it is *intentional* that they aren't good, because the goal is not to make the best possible values so the most number of people spend. That's a pay to play game. This is a free to play game, where the goal is to have the *minimum* number of people spend, that is still enough to support the game (and in this case, allow the company that bought the game developer to make their money back).

Don’t buy them. Same as you wouldn’t buy offers anywhere in the world that don’t interest you.

I don' think 3 stars should be removed from cavs, otherwise MCOC would become even more pay-to-win then it was before.

5 bucks gets you 135 units, with this deal you get a 300 unit crystal plus t4c shards (25% of one) and a few t2a shards. Hard to complain about that, way better value for the cash than just units.

The whole point of purchased crystals is risk money for a low chance at a good pull. If you're expecting to buy your way to the top, then you can't expect it to be that easy.. At least not in a FTP game. And you can see the RNG going in, so there's really no room to complain about the pulls.

I guess I'm not a good gambler, probably never will be. If y'all think the drop rates are fair that's fine. Imma just stay out of it, earlier results from the pulls aren't encouraging to me, maybe along the line whatever I spend might add up to a good pull eventually or might not. Won't go down that path to find out cos I'm not optimistic about it, not with these rates.

Guys that say you don’t need to spend money, on crystals, where do you think this game would be if guys didn’t spend money on it. That doesn’t mean Kabam need to rip you off, odds should e different if you spend money, to drop 100 bucks on a Odins vault is no small peanuts, just to get all 3 stars. Kabam is worst then the casinos, I do better in Vegas! Kabam always been a rip off and that will never change!

Crystals aren't Gambling. Not in the legal sense. However, the chances are fair because they're the same for everyone. People are aware of the chances they take. At least for the most part. They take their own chances knowing the risks involved. There is always a possibility you will not get what you want. That's what we all know when we buy Crystals.

That’s what we are saying the drop off rate is not fair, so because we know the drop off rate even though it’s not fair, and we spend our own money it’s too bad for us, when someone takes advantage of you, don’t look for any sympathy. Yes if I dropped a certain amount of money, I think I should have a better chance at better champs, isn’t that any where you go spend your money, that you get your money’s worth!

@GroundedWisdom How aren't they gambling? I know that they technically don't count as lootboxes since you are guaranteed to get something from the crystals, but it's likely that it won't be something you can use

You aren't gambling for a tangible payout. You're spending money to access something that has an element of chance to it. Gambling involves spending money for the chance at monetary payout or some other payoff. There isn't anything you're taking home from buying Crystals. There's no cash out.

Dont take the gambing bait, hes debated this before on the forums. I do not mean this in the literal, legal, tangible sense.

Just because you’re receiving something virtual doesn’t mean that is not a pay off, you don’t have to receive something tangible in order for it to be considered gambling, it just has to be monitory, something of value, the price is set by either party are just by one party!

We don't own anything of value in the game.

That sounds about right, considering there is about 10% of the 150+ Champs that people consider God Tier.
  • GroundedWisdomGroundedWisdom Member Posts: 36,567 ★★★★★
For the record, the Drop Rates are the same for a "Meme Tier" as they are for a "God Tier". Not unless the Crystal is advertised as specifically increased.

Random is when your odds of landing great champs are just as good as landing poor champs but that isn’t the case in mcoc.

That's an interesting, and completely ludicrous definition of "random." By this definition no lottery is random, because the odds of getting a good result are always much lower than the odds of getting a poor result.

Random is when every partitioned possibility has the same chance of occurring as the relative size of the partition without dependencies. Or if you prefer, in this case every champ that can drop has an equal chance of dropping (outside of stated different chances).

I have seen no evidence that this is false, and I've seen laughable instances where people tried to prove it true and accidentally proved it false with their data.
