Let’s Talk about Dr. Doom’s AB as compare to Ghost’s

I have already seen a ton of question here of whether to use AG on Doctor Doom. The consensus is always that he doesn’t need his awakened ability. This makes me think of Ghost in the earlier days. The answer was always that Ghost doesn’t need to be awakened to be amazing, which is still true. But Ghost awakened ability makes her extremely more powerful, the faster she can get to her special 2, the better.

Could the similar argument be made with Doctor Doom?

We know that one of the unique abilities he has is the ability to throw special after special, really locking the opponent in a loop of specials. Also the shock can be quite useful, not as important though.

Of course the reason why I am interested to hear what people think is because I am a proud owner of a 5/65 Doctor Doom and a Generic AG. I know generic gems are precious and hard to come by, but I have class gems saved for almost all the champs I want to awaken once I get them except Hyperion (my “white whale” at all rarities).

If you have used AG, class or generic, on Doom, tell us why you did it?

Good arguments, but I believe most just used gems/Sig's on Doom for prestige purposes.

The only reason I’d use a generic on doom is prestige, it’s nowhere near as massive as ghost as it’s more matchup specific and just nit as potent an ability

It's actually a good ability for defense, since his aura will nullify Dex a lot and shock the opponent, and the AI loves having Doom heavy when you're shocked. This improves Doom's defensive capability. For Ghost, well....Ghost is a Corvus charge and free kill no matter how you look at it. So even from a defensive standpoint this helps Doom a fair amount.
