Gloom of Doom.

For the first time since I have been playing this game, I am no longer a Boss killer in AQ. With Dooms high critical resistance, unblockable first special and uninterupped heavies, I cant seem to make any significant damage with my favorite AQ champs like Venom, Stealth spidey and warlock. None of these champs seem to be able to get a critical hit at all. I am so disappointed with the game. Up to this point, there was always a trick to beat the boss but with Doom, it is a matter of the right champ to beat him. Only the ones that are guaranteed critical hits seem to make any significant dent in his health. AQ is not Act 6 or Act 7 where you need specific champs. Come on Kabam. This is too much. I feel like I suck at this game now even though I have 100% Act 5 and have become Cavalier in just the past few months. What good am I if I can not help my alliance against Doom. You have gone too far Kabam and are runining the game. I don't even want to participate anymore. Probably should just quit the game altogether at least that is how I feel.

DOT does well too. Guaranteed DOT (blade/void to name a few). High crit rate does fare well too. I also use doom against doom just for the incinerates. Rulk also does great (fun option)

It is alliance quest. That is the point. We should be able to use any champ. Needing certain champs for content is something that has been widely used in the harder content. This is alliance quest. What everyone plays. It has no place in AQ.

I one shot AQ Doom with my r4 5* Stealthy. He is super good for that fight. Just keep dexing the sp1's and he goes down pretty easily.

I felt similarly when the transition from Thanos to Doom happened! For me, it's the crazy Block Penetration that most annoying. Your Stealth Spidey will land crits just fine, once you've got his Precision Passive.

Alternately, consider using someone who doesn't rely on crits to inflict DoT debuffs. Obviously Human Torch would be good; but anyone with guaranteed DoT on Special Attacks or Heavies can get damage done. For Warlock, he can do damage with bleed on Heavy attacks; although it's a shame Doom is immune to both Shock and Armour Break.

Practice baiting the SP1 - once you get it down, it's not too bad to evade.

Also, don't leave that Venom at home! He wrecks almost all Doombots, and is fabulous against Silver Surfer.

I just use doom or corvus. Contrary to what people say, his s2 isn't actually that bad to evade

DOT champs work great on him. Voodoo for example can do it 2 ways. Spamming his L1 for DOT or even combo L2 to power burn him and Lock him at corner.

I’ve used quake and 1shot him multiple times in both map 5 and 6.

I usually one-shot him with my duped 5* 4/55 AA, parry/heavy...doom bleeds and can be poisoned, so once neurotoxins set in, AAR kicks in and he goes down nicely...

I use either void or omega red to take him down. Both work great - push to special 1, bait and evade then repeat

Once you have it down how to evade the sp1 you're good, it just takes a bit of practise because of that slight delay before the beam. If you google "evade doom sp1" you should see darkzodiac's video which slows the animation down, watch his hands as he swings them around his head, you wanna dash back when his hands are in that 6 o'clock position - and it's punishable if you are close enough.

That is the biggest problem. I can't do any significant damage before the first special and having a real hard time evading it. Beam attacks have always been an issue for me. Can't evade consistently. This is assuming that you have the Dexterity Mastery. How can someone without it beat him?

My favorites are G2099, Ægon, and Sparky in that order (unless Ægon isn’t ramped enough). I have yet to try NF but I imagine he would be solid.

I'm pretty sure that if someone is playing AQ seriously, they have dex

Look at Doom’s hand when he’s about to beam! That’s when you dexterity.

3* or 4* versions of nick fury can take down doom in AQ

I personally find Doom was easier then Thanos. I was terrible with reverse controls.

His Sp1 is very easy to evade once you get used to it. I've soloed Map 7 Doom plenty of times with Ghost, Corvus, Omega, Doom, and Nick Fury.

Also it's AQ, who cares about soloing the boss lol, just let everyone go at him

It’s AQ. Super Niche fights are better here because there are 10 people in a BG and if you co-ordinate at least 1 of them has to have a HT, Blade, AA, GR or any of the other suggestions. Would you rather these fights in story mode where it’s just 1 persons roster or would you rather it be in a place where 10 rosters are available?

Champs that work well agains Doom: Blade, Void, corvus, Stark Spidey, Hawkeye, Sym Supreme, Dr Voodoo, star lord, domino, mojo, long shot, red hulk, ghost, human torch, nick fury, squirrel girl, OG punisher, havok, omega red, arch angel.

That’s 22 champs. Some are better than others and I probably missed one. Seems it’s not that niche of a fight.

Even with class disadvantage Corvus can wreck Doom once you ensure you don't get shocked and evade the sp1.

As long as you can dex his sp1 corvus absolutely melts him
  • Jemster519Jemster519 Member Posts: 210 ★★
This is a perfect example of what I am talking about. The lower level alliances are suffering bad. They don't have the champs or the skills.
