Are Kabam updating 5 star crystals?

Kabam mentioned updates coming to crystals in the future, to help summoners get the champion they want. Were they just talking about the Abyss Nexus crystal, or will they be making changes to the standard ones/introducing new ones? Don’t know whether it’s worth saving up my 5* shards, or spending them. Thanks for any info!

    That blog post was due for release today, though with alliances being pushed back to today I'm not sure if we'll get a double whammy today or if the whole schedule has been pushed a few days. Either way it's not going to hurt you to hold your shards for an extra week until the announcement. Then if it sounds worth hoarding, hoard, if it doesn't spin away.

    I'm hoping for class-based crystals personally but who knows what's going to be on offer.
