5 Star Thing without synergies

Based on community response on a prior post of mine (as well as YouTube videos), I took my 5 Star Thing to Rank 5. So far he’s been putting in some good work - his shock immunity is rare and he still hits surprisingly hard without synergies once he has 30 or so rock stacks.
Any expert Thing advice is definitely appreciated. Admittedly, the Heimdal/Champion/Hela/Angela synergy is awesome (I still prefer it over the Mr. Fantastic one as that first fight is really tricky). Nevertheless, unless it’s content where I can bring in 4 stars, I can’t utilize all of Thing’s synergies so I use my Thing without synergies.
My goal right now is exploring 6.1 - anyone tried Thing against Crossbones? I’ve only done that fight once to become Cavalier but my roster has progressed enough for me to start revisiting 6.1 while I wait for the nerf on Act 6 overall.
