Last time when arenas were updated was 15th February 2018
Now it is over 2.5 years and we are still getting those phc shards from milestone and just 150 people for 5 star featured
Now it is time for a 5 star basic arena and a brand new 6 star featured arena
Since u were discussing about to make 5 star champs more available especially champs who are desired by the people then I think the basic 5 star arena is the great answer to it.
We are getting only 2000 5 star shards from top rank of 5 star featured while in Sunday arena you can get 1750 5 star shards in a single day
This is really ridiculous
Now it is time u should update rank rewards and milestone rewards as well
And please remove those phc shards and put cavalier shards or grandmaster crystal shards there

I do agree though, arenas have become a bit dated. As someone who has the vast majority of good 5* the only reason I actually do arena is for units now and because 5* shards lead to 6* shards. Despite my roster I’m still nowhere near being able to get close to pulling a 5* featured champ without dropping 1000+ units so there needs to be some motivation to grind.
If I do a full cycle of arenas and hit the top 10% in all of them I’m still only getting around 3k 5* shards and that’s for 3 hours work/day.
In the meanwhile there are different methods to earn golds. Monthly quest, incursion and selling stuffs.
1 hour or less of your time with a good incursion partner can help you a bit.
If you don’t mind doing arenas for the units then take your chance to farm those PHC, open them to get ISO from duplicate champions and then sell those ISO, but that is if you don’t plan to rank up some champion.
If you aren’t into Incursion and Arena then Questing is probably the easiest gold net as the tile offers golds while fights offer golds. You would end up netting like 3-5k (random number guess only) golds per run at the highest difficulty plus combined with completion and exploration reward.
I was unaware they were going to do any bigger like changes to arena though. I will say that.
My memory is failing me, but I recall they plan to add more milestones and increase the rank reward pool from 150 to 300. Then I don’t really understand what, but they plan to create something brand new arena system. Again! My memory could be mixed.
The current model of time in game for Beginners, Intermediate, and Veterans brackets is just a tad dated at this juncture. With so much of the game already hinging upon your current progression title, it only makes sense for it to extend to Arenas as well. This not only would expand how many players gain access to certain tiers of Featured Champs, it could entice players to spend a bit more time exploring Acts vs speeding through the Story mode in allowing them easier access to newer Champs. Or vice versa, give them the drive to push through to access greater rewards.
Now, on the flipside this should (in theory) come with certain restrictions IMHO. If they did employ such a system and were to add say a 6* Feature and a 5* Basic, they'd need to restrict access. For those lower than Uncollected, 6* Feature would remain locked. For all, once you enter the 5* Basic, the 4* Basic would remain locked for the remainder of that 3 day Arena cycle. Same with the Feature for those UC and higher. You can only choose to enter the 5* or the 6* Feature. Once you enter one, the other is locked for the remainder of the 3 day Arena cycle.
The reason these locks would be a necessity is to prevent anyone from having greater total access to more Arenas than others. This would also limit how many milestone rewards a player has access too, and thus preserving the in game economy. As I recall, the main reason given for why they didn't want to add a 5* Basic was due to it upsetting the in game economy (as per the Dorky Dave interview video way back). If this is still on the table, the aforementioned locks would be a perfect way to prevent any issues in allowing Uncollected and higher players from having access to more milestones than those lower.
Now as to the milestones/rank rewards and what they could potentially look like per Progression tier is something that Kabam would have to hash out in house. Only they know what they want and do not want to see available resource wise available per tier in game. Now when it comes to say the 5* Basic Arena, it would be NICE to see a champ given at the 1-10% rank reward bracket much like the 4* Basic. It would be nice to see GMC (at minimum) shards given to those UC and higher in the milestones. For the 6* Feature it would be nice to see Cavalier Crystal shards (unlocked for Cavalier title holders).
