How easy is it to stay in Diamond Form with Emma Frost?

I don’t have her but from what I can tell, she’s basically immune to everything in diamond form. Is she a legitimate answer to Caltrops and Biohazard paths?

It’s easy the opponent just has to have more power than she does

If you know how to play her right, she will be in diamond for almost the entirety of the fight, and she will very rarely enter her telepath form. So, yes, she is a great option for Biohazard, Caltrops, and many other nodes. But she's not as good as Ghost, though.

I found it not easy until I played her with col. With the col syngergy it becomes very easy 2 stay in diamond most of the fight if not all if done right( also col and omega are great on those 2 paths as well if want to make a great synergy team

How much damage does she do on a relative scale?

Ghost being a 10 and Ebony Maw being a 1

there are champs that can do more than ghost and more consistently, but I'd put Emma at a solid 6-7

There are multiple tricks you can use to make sure you don’t fall out of diamond form. The most important thing to know is you must never reach your first bar of power when the opponent is below one bar. If you do, she’ll switch to telepath form instead.

I use her on hazard shift in wars all the time and never have any trouble with her. It’s all about controlling what the opponent does. You need to decide when they use a special attack, take that decision away from them. In order to stay in diamond form you need to fire off your own SP1 before they do, otherwise you’ll be left in a situation where you’re a bar of power ahead of them which will switch you back to telepath. Since the opponent gains power faster than you do when you’re hitting them, you’ll need to make sure they don’t use that special attack until you’ve used yours first. Since they gain power faster than you do when you’re hitting them, you’ll need to find ways to make sure they don’t use it until you’re ready for them do so. I usually start ending my combo one hit early and hold block immediately after. The opponent almost never throws a special when you do this, they’ll hit into your block and throw a heavy at some point. Punish that heavy and use your SP1 at the end of the combo. It’s then safe for the opponent to use their special attack as well.

If you’re ever in a situation where you’re going to reach a bar of power before the opponent does you’ll need to get a bit more creative. You need the opponent to keep gaining power without gaining any yourself. The only way to do that is to hit into their block, they gain small amounts of power from each hit whilst you gain nothing. It’s a great way to get things back under control when you need to.

Something else to note is that it’s often not a good idea to use heavy attacks in diamond form if you intend to stay in it. You’ll be at a bar of power in 3 hits and the opponent will gain almost no power at all, which will force you to go into telepath form very early on.

Emma takes practice to be good at, but she can offer a very wide range of utility and still has some very solid damage to go with it. She should be able to help you out a lot once you get the hang of her.

In my experience she isnt a sustainable option for biohazard nodes as she goes into telepath form for special attacks and usually triggers 1 or 2 bleeds which you need to do in order to keep your power lower than the opponent. With her long animations this can take out a big chunk of not all health by the end of a path.

However, she does have amazing damage and is a good evade counter if you keep her in telepath form. Secret combo is (parry+heavy)x3 at the start of the fight. This will push you over 1 bar while the opponent has less than half a bar. Then combo until you have 10 prowess and unleash that crazy sp2 damage.
