Is it a bad change? Not really. Is it a good change? Not really.
Does it feel a little unnecessary and baiting people to use more units on crystals? Definitely.
yeah it's not really a negative change, but who will it really affect? maybe a progressing player who still opens premiums will get lucky. but not many people buy Cavs and gmcs. I guess you can get the one from calendar, but the chance is so minute anyway.
If you don't like the crystals or don't open them, an incremental improvement in them will seem irrelevant. But for the people who do like them or open them, an incremental improvement is significant, because they already like them enough to not think their value is meaningless to start.
By my calculations, adding the Nexus crystal in there increases the odds of pulling a specific 5* or 6* champ by 40%. If you think the odds are approximately zero, then a 40% increase in zero is still zero. But if you place any value on them at all, then a 40% increase is sizeable. The increase is almost certainly not targeted at the players who consider the value of the crystals in terms of higher rarity drops to be approximately zero.
