How many AQ teams actively playing, on average, each week?

I know my team's rating, I'd like to know on average how many other teams are playing so I know how far up the pack we are....

Just do a week where you start AQ but dont move. See where you rank at the end.

    What's the confusion, @Fenico?

How many teams are playing AQ on any given week, on average (preferably the recent numbers, but I'd take over the last year or whatever).
Are there 10,000, in which case a team AQ ranking of 2,000 means we are in the top 20%, or are there 100,000 in which case we are in the top 2% (doubt it!), or what?

Thanks @phillgreen , I thought of that too, but I don't think my team would appreciate it. I suppose I could theoretically create another account and test it but I'm pretty sure that's against Kabam T&C, and besides, it's (hopefully) easier to ask.

Why not play a round of AQ and just look at the rank rewards?

I think there are plenty of alliances which don't know what they're doing and start AQ not regularly so I wouldn't personally focus on this number

@fenico I'm not focused on it, it's more by way of idle curiosity. Still, it would be interesting to know, wouldn't it? And I'm not going to lie to you, I might use it when encouraging or congratulating my team - it would be nice to say that they are in the top X% of teams in the world...

@Snurris I don't know if I'm confused or you are, but I'm reasonably sure you are. That would tell me what my team is ranked now, and I know that number. I'm wondering ... well, the thing I've already said twice.

@JackDiamond what I mean is that the rewards go as far back as to alliance placed 99.999
So if you’re in place 1673 you are in the top 2%
There is no way of telling if there are more alliance that don’t reach the rank so then your only option maybe is to ask Kabam how many alliances in total that is playing AQ.

@Snurris now I understand, thanks for the clarification. Still, just because the rank rewards go up to 99,999, doesn't mean that all of those are used by actual teams. There may in fact be whole ranks that never get used but are there just in case.

@Kabam Miike @Kabam Porthos can you assist?

It’s not against T&C to have multiple accounts. It’s against T&C to cheat and that’s not cheating

I doubt a mod will answer, but if you really want, you could create another account to test. 100% not against tos, as long as only you created the account and you are the only one playing on it

@Thicco_Mode @Mauled thanks for the info. I've been very wary of that as I got stung by a team member who was accused of cheating with no way to discuss or appeal it (I could never find out who it was or what they were accused of, but I think I know, and I think they were accused of piloting, and I'm 99% sure they didn't do it, but either way the team lost a bunch of rewards), so I tend to try to be completely clean. Still, good to know.

@Fantasy_91 well that's fantastic (sorry, couldn't resist! :smirk:). That's the best answer I'm likely to get unless Kabam chooses to answer.

So 32,000 teams is probably a pretty safe minimum number, could be more nowadays but good enough).

So if we rank 2,000 then we are in the top 6 or 7%, approximately. Want to be in the top 1%, we have to rank about 320 or below. Good to know.

    Thanks everyone!
