Why do people like venom? (Actual question, not a criticism)

I started playing in 2016 and have left and come back twice at this point and was wondering why do people like venom and regard him as a good champion? It could have just been that I didn’t know people liked him in the past but from my knowledge this is a decently new thing. So if someone could explain why he’s good and when this change happened, if there was a change, that would be appreciated.

He did get buffed a while back, so that might be why? He can get really good damage with stacking bleeds and he has decent utility (eating buffs with his sp1, countering spider-people’s evasion, etc.)

He was buffed and now he's an amazing champ.
Bleed damage, spider verse evade counter, sp1 nullify-regen, sp2 convert all buffs to fury buff which increases his damage, True Strike when opponent is below 18% (imo best IMIW counter), can get indefinite Armor Up buff (Havok counter).

I think the only thing others have left off is his ability to armor break with his heavy attack. He’s a phenomenal champ.

Guys, you all forgot that he's immune to power drain when fighting tech champ??

    Spiderverse characters cant evade
    Buff steal
    havok counter
    Iron man infinity war counter
    regen
basic hits deal really good damage
true strike once the opponent is at 18% health
he's good for content like Variants 2 and 5

His abilities are quite easy to play, and he's not 100% RNG reliant

This is partially accurate. The “buff steal” isn’t an actual buff steal. It’s more of a nullify that give him the regen you mentioned. I would remove the Havok and IMIW counter. The Havok counter is completely RNG reliant, and you will die very quickly if you don’t get the armor up buff because of his bleed. Also, who isn’t an IMIW counter?

    I’ll add to this:
Unblockable on specials when the opponent is under 18% health
    Armor break on heavy.
+15% bleed accuracy against hero champs
Cannot be power burned or drained by tech champs
+5% increased attack per buff on L3

Also he plays very smooth, his L3 has epic animations, and he’s a badass character. What more do you want?

99% of the time he’s the best option for a spider verse here
    He has good damage
He’s extremely fun to play animation wise
He has a few other pieces of utility as well that are slightly more niche

All the reasons above. PLUS, he is Venom.
That should be enough in and of itself.

    Alright yall its venom time!

So what you want to do is get him high sig (Not required)
There are lots of different ways to play venom. Number 1 I call the buff killer! Number 2 I call the buff hoarder! Number three I call the raw damage!
Number 1 is mostly wanted to be used in matches with lots of buffs. Because On the special 1 venom gets rid of buffs from the opponent and gives himself regeneration. So you can use this as an advantage and you will almost always be at full in fights such as Colossus fights. As you know probably Colossus gets armors buffs these can't be armor broken but they ca in fact be om nomed. This helped me in act 5.2.4. There was a Colossus that I completely nuked with Venom. I came out of that match up at full health.

Number 2 is the buff hoarder. This allows you to get 7 buffs that are permanent. With the green goblin synergy 8 buffs. If you don't know venoms buffs they are listed here: Fury, Armor, Cruelty, Precision, and physical resistance.
I like on offense to have at least 3 fury, 3 precisions, and 2 cruelty. This is done by the green goblin synergy. Every crtical hit gives bleed. You can stack these buffs by not using a special 2. WARNING IF SPECIAL 2 IS USED ALL BUFFS WILL BE TURNED INTO FURY BUFFS.
Number 3 is raw damage. This strategy allows you to get... well raw damage. This strategy makes you use a special two. Then when you use it...

    abilities of venom:
Can't be evaded by spider verse
during the last 18 percent of the defenders health venom gains true strike and his special attacks are all unblockable
    his buffs are potent
    regen
    om nom

Guys i got a doubt, to counter the spider man in act 5.2.4, i brought in my venom (6*) and to my surprise saw spider man still evading it. Am i missing something? Or is it a bug??

Is it with buffet? If the black buff gets nullified you lose that anti-evade ability.

High damage output, can’t be power drained by tech, anti-spider verse and he looks awesome

Im afraid i don't know, and sorry, it was not 5.2.4, it was something before that, and yeah, it must be the one with buffet.

So does it nullify my klyntar buff too? I thought it wouldn't.
