Exploration Act 5 vs Cavalier

Thoye3Thoye3 Member Posts: 96

I am trying to figure out if I should focus on exploration of Act 5 or work towards cavalier. I currently have explored both 5.1 and 5.4 of act 5, but am only half way done with 5.3 and have most of 5.2 left. With the monthly rewards being so good this month I was thinking about just going for cavalier instead. Does my roster look strong enough for 6.1 or would you wait to finish act 5 first? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Personally, I believe the proper order in today’s MCOC after act 5 is 6.1-6.2.1, then act 5 exploration, then 6.2.2+. Some may disagree tho.

I mean that Hyperion is the perfect counter to 6.2 sinister

Cavalier gives you many "perks" you don't get at Uncollected so I'd go after that first and then go back and explore Act 5. Your roster is definitely capable of getting Cavalier.

You have hype for CB, better to just go for Cav now .

Perfect? No. Prey on the weak node makes
Hype a little bit tricky to use. It can be done though.

Go for cav. You have a good enough roster.

If you have the champs for it, I'd go cav. it gives rewards that accumulate over time and it's obviously much faster than act five explo

I think in general the best rule of thumb is to go for completion as high as you can go, and when you get stopped because you aren't skilled enough or lack roster options you fill in exploration until you are ready to push forward again. If you've completed 5.4 and you think you can do 6.1, I would do 6.1. If at any point you get stopped and don't think you can proceed without spending too much resources, then you go back and find the easiest exploration path on any map you haven't done yet to get the easy rewards. Keep filling exploration until you think you're strong enough to continue through 6.1.

The roster looks good enough for 6.1 at a glance, but only you know if you're good enough to play it through. Also keep in mind that 6.1 requires skills you may or may not have, and may need practice on, such as dealing with No Retreat. If you've encountered that node already somewhere else, then that might not be a problem. If you haven't, you might need to practice on 6.1.1 to get good at dealing with it. Act 6 is not just about having the right team and the right counters, it is also about learning to play around with the nodes.

Well said @DNA3000 I was just wondering if I should complete 6.3 or explore act 5. You just reinforced my wish to do 6.3.

You definitely have a strong enough roster to get cav. If you think you can do it skill wise then definitely go for it.

6.1.1 and 6.1.2 just went down fairly easily so I will go for Cavalier 1st. Thanks for the advice everyone!
