Last year (or was it the year before), we had the same thing.
It was a gift from Santa (or Deadpool, can’t rem), and those that opened it before xMas had about 20-30% of the rewards of those who didnt, and a title for being naughty.. iirc... lol

They’ve done that before where you keep something and it was supposed to be for something “in the future” nearly positive it became a title or something
