I believe it was established that hot dogs are not sandwiches, just like a whole roasted chicken is not a sandwich. You can put hotdogs into a sandwich, but that's not the same thing. Hot dogs between two slices of bread is a sandwich. Hot dogs wrapped in a bun is a hotdog. Replace the sausage with steak and the bun with puff pastry and you have beef wellington. Beef Wellington has the same non-existent amount of sandwichness as a hotdog in a bun.
