What I expect the response will be from Kabam:

Dear Summoners,

As there is a reasonable and very likely chance at amazing rewards in the Greater Gifting Crystals, like Tier 5 Class Catalysts fragments, 6 Star Nexus Crystals, and 5* and 6* versions of Kang and Thanos, the calendar was slightly downsized because of this. We are very sorry to those with higher expectations.

But we're not sorry for Cavalier players, you guys are lucky you even got a calendar.
