Parry vs Dexterity vs Evade

I started out practicing dodge back, then watched Diggity Dave on Parry and switched tactics. But now I just heard Seatin talking about Evade as something you can deliberately do (I thought it was all automatic) and Dave esplaining how to do it. When I fight, I also see the word Dexterity pop up when I dodge sometimes.
What do these 3 terms mean? What benefits do they each give? And which ones are best to practice?
Thx!

Dodge (what I guess you mean by dexterity) = when you swipe back away from an attack that is just about to land. If you have the dexterity mastery, then you'll get a crit buff on next attack after successfully dodging an attack. You don't need dexterity master to dodge back though.
Evade = Same as dodge, but it's done automatically (even when you're trying to block sometimes). If you try to dodge back with a champ that has evasion, sometimes you'll see an "Evade" message and the dexterity buff, but that just means the auto evade kicked in at same time as your dodge back, so you still get dexterity buff.
also, sometimes you will see folks talking about "fully evading" a special attack on an unblockable node.
in this case, we are using the word "evade" to refer to purposeful dodging of an attack ... swipe left.
"fully evade" means evading all parts of the attack sometimes that means multiple swipes.
The flip side here is that some specials are much harder to evade, so you're better off blocking these. Examples for this would be Winter Soldier's S2 or Agent Venom's S1. You can dodge back and avoid the first part, but I wouldn't try dodging those bullets. The chance of them hitting you and inflicting bleed isn't worth it compared to the minimal block damage you'd receive.
When you evade and get the Dexterity bonus crit buff, does that bonus stay until your next attack? Or does it evaporate when the word Dexterity disappears off the screen?
yes (and no).
normally it stays active until the next time you HIT your opponent. not your next attack.
however, imagine you are evading a special attack and swiping back several times. you can get several "just-in-time" evades. but the "dexterity" buffs don't stack. Instead, each new one expires the old one when it replaces it.
You will find LOTS of posts talking about Dexterity "feeding" the Mystic Dispersion mastery (MD), because each expired/replaced Dexterity buff triggers MD.
