I got 3:59. My app crashed during my run and my wolvie/iceman got stuck when attack phase started. :'(

Last month: 4:59 with iPad Pro.
This month: 4:07 with iPhone 8+.

Same exact team set up. Very glaring differences in devices, android is even worse than iPad too!

I've timed roughly with a stop watch Samsung S6, S7, Tab S2 Pro, and newest Ipad Pro 2017 and there is a tremendous difference. I don't think the Iphone 8+ should be THAT much faster than an Ipad Pro of the same generation running the same OS though. Are you comparing this to the last gen Ipad Pro 9.7 2016 edition running an older iOS version than your IPhone 8+?

The Ipad Pro 2017 should perform essentially identical to the Iphone 8+ if both are updated to iOS 11.X, the processors are very close in performance but more importantly they use the same type of NAND chips for storage performance = load times. Also a difference that big may mean last month was just plain harder or longer since I can't see how the 2 devices could really be 52 minutes apart. When you just eye ball the load times is it obviously MUCH faster on the iPhone than the IPad Pro?

If a sub-4 doesn't get it I don't know what to say lol. I'd say you're in guaranteed titles range.

Unfortunately it looks like most of the higher people are getting sub 4:15s, this month felt longer for some reason but the times seem even faster than last month. The differences are so small now it seems like not only do you need an Apple device, you almost need one of the fastest ones.

No matter how great or fast your Android device is you will never crack 100.

To the guy using the shoes analogy. You're so dumb ugh...

I thought about writing a reply to his post but it was so idiotic it wasn't worth the 60 secs to type out lol. Comparing shoe styles to devices that add over an hour to your time confirmed by multiple multi-legends winners... negative IQ player. The analogy would only hold true with Iron weights strapped to shoes of 1 division and not the other. I swear some people post anything just to get their thread count higher as if that means something.

All the guys posting your times can you add the Device and version of iOS you're running to see if there's a correlation? Obviously there's a skill factor but there may be enough of a difference to discern if every time sub-4 or near 4 is using identical setups. And also include was it pre-nerf or post-nerf.

To be more complete mine was 4:27 on Ipad Pro running iOS 10 before the update to 11, done pre-nerf as soon as event was released.

After a certain level of skill (which all players considering legend runs have surpassed), skill isn’t worth mentioning. Every one of them is boosting the same too, so that’s not worth mentioning either.

Phone info is also meaningless without the champ. SL will never be faster than GP in a monthly quest.

    Phone, champ, synergy = legend.

there are posts suggesting a significant difference between IPhones, Ipads, and even the models within these categories though. I would agree that skill is the smallest part of it considering no bad player would even try, but it'd be interesting to see if iPhone 6 users which are still very popular still have a chance, or plain low end iPad users. Or has it gotten so bad that if you don't have a 7+ to 8/8+ you might as well just not try.

In short, can anyone post a time close to 4h on any device other than an iPhone 7 to 8/8+ range?

Curious to know whether the consensus about which champs/teams to use has changed at all. Mutant crit/attack, GOTG, etc. still the way to go?

    Dr. Zola

i've had a a couple attempts and TBH the escort team almost doesn't matter (crit vs atk, I've seen streams and reports of both working great). everyone is fully 50% boosted on an Ipad/Iphone (apparently Iphones are significantly faster from the top times). SL and GOTG is NOT good IMO since it takes max 3 combos to finish fights on master mode and SL has no ramp up time to catch up on damage. I did mine on Magik and it never took more than 3 combos into a special except for the bosses. (recoil, suicides, GC, assassin, 50% permanent attack boost, pierce, etc.) Any decent player will never die more than a couple times to careless mistakes the nodes die so fast (10-20 secs max on master). I died once the entire run and I'm not near as good as the top streamers I've seen.

Any champ that has a proc to turn 3 combos into 2 combos trumps everything else (IF, Gwenpool, X23, maybe Drax). The 3-5 secs you save if 2 bleeds proc or 2 armor breaks proc changes 3 combos per fight into 2 combos per fight which is the only user controllable variable. The only back to back legends winner I am aware of uses IF and he's been top 10 several times and 2 first place finishes. None with SL that I have ever heard of, he takes 3 combos to finish most nodes on master. Obviously need one of the above 4/55 and an Apple device, preferably Iphone 8+. It may be possible with medium damage champs but being 1 combo behind a champ that has a proc that removes 1 combo per master fight is a hard obstacle to overcome. I felt I fought close to perfect (it's not hard when you're boosted out the ass, easier than arena fights on master) but because I used Magik (only available 5 star) instead of the above listed champs and an Ipad instead of Iphone, I only made 4:27. I thought this seemed very fast cuz this quest had a ton of paths but there are numerous reports of 3:45 range now using IF/drax/Gwen on an Iphone, so pretty sure I'm 100% screwed even at 4:27. The device probably accounts for at least 15 minutes between fast and super fast Apple devices then the champ medium vs ultra dmg probably accounts for another 15 minutes or so to spread the difference from the top 5 vs the bottom half of the legends is my general take on this.

Your escort team I don't think matters as much because every fight is still going to be 2 or 3 combos into a special (a couple procs and they will die before special). So I'd go full crit or full atk power synergy but again I don't think either one is superior. Certain champs that benefit specifically from crit it might matter but slightly at best (BP lacerate more vs higher attk = everything hurts more).

3:59. R4 Storm, R4 Iceman, Red Cyk, Red Mag, Wolvie.

Game crashed once during the whole run. Had to reload it. 2-3 minutes lost.

On my last map, AW started and my Iceman and Wolvie went into defense. So had to reselect my team. Swapped 4* Wolvie to 3* Wolvie, and R4 Iceman with R4 Magik. Another 1-2 minutes lost.

Who did the fighting? What soul boost did you use?

    Asking for a friend.
  • xNigxNig Member Posts: 7,336 ★★★★★
Storm did most of the fighting.

Iceman handled Spideys as evade champs.

Had Fierce soul boost on for heroic and Power start 1 for Masters.

How we calculate time for legend run? Do we calculate time from entering in quests and ending quests or only fight time counts?

it's the entire time from the second you press start which is one of the complaints that have come up countless times that the mods refuse to reply to. We have requested load times to be removed but again there is nothing but silence from the Mods. The ranks are predetermined by device and OS and primary champ since almost all legends runners are skilled enough with boosts out the ass skill level plays a relatively small role in your time unless you happen to be a bad player crazy enough to waste thousands of units to try. This month seems to be one of the fastest we've seen in a while partially cuz it's probably easier but also people are getting better at it and the repeat multi-legends are fine tuning every detail. Also knowing things like best devices, champs, etc, being shared among the community. I've never seen this many sub 4h posts in a long time.

While the sample size of submitted devices isn't large enough for solid conclusions seems every time near or under 4h is exclusively only Iphone 7 and 8/8 plus which also happens to be the same devices most of the streamers use. Ipads seem to be next within 15-30 min of the iPhone times. Androids can't even break 5h.

The soul boost may have a minor impact but i think the main champ matters more - the fight time in master mode is determined by either 2 vs 3 combos to end fights unless your champ can end fights with 5 hits into sp1. Champs that can change 3 combo fights to 2 combo fights with a simple proc have an obvious advantage (IF Gwen BP Drax, etc). The power soul boost lets you use sp1 faster but only a few champs can finish fights with 5 hits into sp1 in master mode (storm, anyone else confirm who else can do this?). For most champs I believe 2 furied combos does as much or more more damage than 1 combo into sp1 with soul power boost, so i'd only take this boost if you're running that type of champ. My only data point comes from Magik which has a pretty weak sp1, it takes 3 combos for her with fury boost to finish most fights, and 1 combo into sp1 would not work for her but she's my only candidate.

My initial thoughts was 4:30 would make it but looking at all the times near 4h, I'm guessing this month will be closer to 4:15 cutoff.

I still feel Kabam has a morale obligation to announce that Android (at least half of player base) has 0% chance of winning instead of just pocketing their money in yet another money grab move. There seems to be a 100% consensus that this is the case and it's shameful it is not announced in the legends mail or separate divisions aren't made.
  • xNigxNig Member Posts: 7,336 ★★★★★
So if they were to make that announcement, and a phone running Android that is able to load faster than iOS appears, what are they supposed to do? Retract the announcement?

And should they make that announcement, should they stop trying to optimize the game for the hundreds of Android running devices since load times matter less now?

You're campaigning for Android while running iOS. Your crusade, though admirable, seems to have no logical desirable outcome that works out well for the company. IMO, the best solution to whatever you're saying, is exactly what Kabam is doing, by keeping mum about it.

Should Android users want to try their hands at a Legends run, are we in any position to tell them no? This issue about Android having a disadvantage at loading has been around the forums for quite some time. With in-game mail containing direct links to the forum, you'd think that the bulk of the playerbase that wants to attempt a Legends run should know that.

I did it in 4h40min in iPhone 7. Before regen nerf i think. Not very confident with my time tho...

Pretty sure the power start boost was the main reason for the lower times. That boost basically reduced all master fights by 2 combos. And if their sp1 stunned, the fight was basically over within 5 seconds of landing it... as soon as they landed their second sp1 (which wouldve normally been their first).

You'll see next month will go back up to normal, unless there's some new special boost introduced.
