Same people here saying they are not obligated to list individual odds for each increment are the ones who said Kabam chose to start releasing drop rates out of the goodness of their hearts and was done independently of the apple app store's policy. I question the ethics of their decision here, even if they are legally in the right to make it and it clearly is against what the purpose of the policy was in the first place.
I should say "same person" because there's only one I remember distinctly from that thread back then. Other one will probably turn up on this thread sooner than later
I never said that if you are talking about me. When the whole Apple thing came about, I was "wait and see" what happens. I've always said if they are legally supposed to do it they will. The Gold crystals are the same thing but no one's complaining about them. They list 100% chance at gold because that's what they are.
This is a T5CC FRAGMENT CRYSTAL. You have 100% chance to pull fragments from the crystal. Kabam sells 6*'s during major holidays like 4th of July and Cyber weekend. Guess what, you have a 100% chance to get a 6* and each champion isn't listed. How is that any different than the T5CC frag crystal? It's not. People just want something to be mad at.
Firstly, same as last time this offer was out, I brought up the issue of the Gold crystals not having drop rates disclosed back in 2018
I still think that a different amount of the same rarity is shady not to announce to the players.
Secondly, a 6* champion has exactly the same chance to be awarded and is not a good example here. Kabam have confirmed that each champion has the same drop rate. Plus, Champions have perceived value, it's more qualitative than quantitative. It's why you hear people argue whether Doom or Claire is better, rather than arguing if 2k T5CC is better than 3k T5CC
thirdly, again, this is about the spirit of the reason the drop rates were disclosed. It was to dissuade gambling on lootboxes in Video games and a part of that was to make sure that everyone knew what they were buying. People do not know the odds of what they are buying, so it is not in the spirit of why lootbox odds were regulated. It could be 0.01% chance for 25% for all anyone knows, and 99% chance for 5% with a few other quantities sprinkled in. It is shady, and it should be more transparent. Hopefully Apple catches onto this in all games, to adhere to the regulations set. It's a technicality and it's wrong
Being legal doesn't mean being respectable. If a company tries to skirt the law in something so trivial, one has to worry what they might do where it matters.

Well, it clearly boosts the sales of Cav crystals showing the odds and then increasing them and I would think that it would do the same here if they showed odds to start and then increased them at some point. I just think it would be a good idea all around for Kabam and the people buying.
Are the odds of the randomized portion of the offer, clearly identified? Nope, just the odds of the one item, T5CC... Not the odds for the amount available between 5 and 25%.

I absolutely agree, Kabam are adhering to the letter of the regulations but not to the spirit.
As they stand, the word item counts as one item and not randomised quantities of said item. The spirit of it is to stop loot box gambling systems. I believe the spirit of it should cover randomised quantities of items, in order to stick to the spirit of why lootboxes have been regulated in the first place- which is to stop mainly young persons from spending money on these gambling loot boxes without the information
Honestly RNG gamble deals are the worst type of deal in the game so it stands to reason that this offer shouldn't even be up for a debate. $40 for a guaranteed 2250 frags is garbage.

That’s a terrible analogy. Kabam has explicitly stated that every basic pool champ has an equal chance of popping out of a crystal. If we were dealing with a rotating or weighted pool, we would need that information.
For all we know, this deal is
5% t5 - 90% 10% t5 - 9% 15% t5 - .9% 25% t5 - .1%
Or 99% get 5% t5cc and 1% get 25% t5cc. Or 99% get 25% t5cc and everyone on the forum has rotten luck. Who could say? I think it’s unethical and bad business, so I won’t buy it. If other people are comfortable with the risk, I applaud your bravery, income or both.

Looking at the wording they have to publish the rates of randomised virtual items. The virtual item itself is not randomised, but the quantity is. That would be how Kabam can get away with not showing the drop rate.
Technically by the wording they don’t have to give any drop rates but it is likely a ploy to show they are disclosing more than they need to and push it into the grey area if they are legally challenged.
