I dont know if its a bug or what but on aw attack i always start at 3/5 energy.

If you always join within first 45 minutes of AW, the it correctly starts at 3/5 energy.
Alliance starts at 3 upon Attack Phase start, and everyone started growing from 3 to the Max 5 over 1.5 hrs (no matter whether you are joined in attack yet or not).

If you join after 45 min, you start with 4. If join after 1.5 hrs, you start with 5.

Same method as it has been FOREVER.

And if you never paid attention in AQ, it is SAME METHOD (except with starting 4 of a higher Max 6 energy). Not a bug there either.
