"Strike matching", as Dave calls it, is the most important quality. Well, and reflex. For me, at least.
From my perspective, it's like some kinda bizarro-world, double-input parry timing. But slightly late. And you have to recognize the last strike, unless you're some all-reflex monstrosity.
I suspect those most successful with this method do just have fast reflexes and good phones. I can manage, but I've only done a few full fights. It's just too risky for a guy who still misses his parry on occasion.
