This is so wrong on so many levels!

Tell me how is this fair? This is not good for players like me. If this continues, I cannot play arena then... I dont have much r4 and r5 champs. How can I fight these fights? This is just 1 fight. After that, all my champs are r3. So I cannot continue arena untill my r5 champs are available. How can I continue like this? My roster is not that big... Seriously this needs to be fixed!

I think I read a very detailed explanation from @DNA3000 regarding this topic (last week?).

Sometimes the match ups are crazy

Yeah, the deathmatch algorithm definitely seems to be more aggressive than before across all the arenas.

I am Uncollected by the way! But this is seriously wrong. Now I have to wait for my r5 champs to be available again.

Bro you are not getting my point. These are my last r4 Champs. Now I have to wait for them to cool down otherwise I will again face this type of opponent?

Or you just lose your streak and start again. But with a 500k roster of course it'll take longer to grind. That's the nature of the game.

Wait. How did you know I had a 500k roster?

get to 15th streak and then u can use your r3 safely. that hasnt changed with new arena

Really? You posted a screenshot including your in-game name so all anyone has to do is search you to see your stats.

    Masteries are worse than nodes.

Here I’ll explain it in simpleton terms…if the max star you can use is 6* matches 6-15 will either be kang/thanos teams or people’s r3 6* teams. It’s always been this way since I started playing 5 years ago….it’s the same in trials match’s 6-15 are either kang thanos teams or r5 4s. Catalyst kang thanos or r5 5* teams….they really not that hard to do. Death matches as people call em are matches after 20 that that happens. And that’s really only cause people use wrong ranks in teams. Like running an r1 5* team

It's almost always been like that from 11-13. You need a 5* R5 or 6*r2 and then 5* R4 or 6* R1 for the other two. Or sandbag...

Should do the same for 14-16, but don't sandbag as all need to be above R4 to be safe.

    17-20 only use 5* R4 or 6* R1 (or better).

21 and up use anyone but try to stay above 14k pi for your team and try not to use less than 5* R3 if you can. The occasional R2 is ok if you keep the overall PI up around 14k or higher. But if you get a bad match initially on your low R2, then the rating drops and you risk a death match .

I'll never understand the big deal with "death matches". You don't have increased attack or health nodes. Almost all of them probably have suicides running. We regularly take harder fights in quests all the time but why does everyone freak out when it's in arena? WS in RoL has 500k health yet we take him down with 3*'s or less all the time.

I agree with your base point that death matches are not a big deal since we regularly face opponents with more health in content and with additional nodes. WS is not a correct comparison though because he has no SP3, arena matches do. Death matches are usually made easy because most of the time, they run suicides. Just keep baiting Sp1 and watch them kill themselves.lol

@LordPSN it gets easier if you can get past that and get to streak 20. There are different strategies you can use like sandbagging with a r1 champ, and once you get to streak 18-20 or so you just have to keep your PI above a certain threshold. Google it or ask on the forum. It's been ages since I've run anything but 6*s in arena so I don't know the specifics for current arena strategy for lower accounts.

From my experience, most of the time going up against R3 6*s with r4s is very doable.

problem is add this to the fact the ai usually plays as if it's on an all or nothing node ... so if you didn't bring a power control champ .. or somebody who can eat sp3s ....

The arenas have always been like this. Which is to say, the arena tries to send harder and harder matches at you as you complete more and more arena rounds in a row. The only reason why everyone isn't fighting champs four times higher than their own team constantly is because that's impossible. The arena pulls champs from other player's rosters, and they can only go so high. At some point it becomes impossible for the arena to find a match that is as difficult as it is programmed to find, and it "breaks" and starts handing out default matches with low difficulty.

It was never intended that the arena operate like this indefinitely: this is a failsafe mode that only happens when the arena is "broken." But players going back years figured out that if they used champions with a high enough PI (it is more complicated than this, but simplifying here for discussion purposes) the arena couldn't find matches *even higher* and would break. This was and is referred to by the players as "infinite streak." You use the right teams at the right times, and in the right sequence, and you can break the arena match system and get easy fights indefinitely.

There's a "hump" you have to get over, that exists between about round 10 and round 20. That's where the difficulty curve reaches its peak, and then levels off. It is also where the game tries to find the highest matches relative to the player, and thus it is the place where it is the easiest for players to "break" the match system. You just have to learn to follow one of those systems that is out there.

This is not an easy thing to fix, because it isn't the deathmatches that are broken. The deathmatches are the arena working correctly. It is the easy matches that players get that are broken. The players have found a creative way to break the arena to make it more palatable to play. The last time the devs tried to "fix" deathmatches they eliminated all the 4x deathmatches but put the arena into permanent 2x mode where the fights were twice as hard as they used to be for anyone who had mastered infinite streak tactics. Needless to say, this change was not well liked and it was backed out.

There's no way to "fix" this because it isn't broken. It would take a complete redesign of how the arena creates match ups to change this in a way the players would find not annoying.

The health pools between 11-15 is what I don’t understand!
I run full suicides and it’s like hitting a wall
But it’s all about your roster

This is a deathmatch? Slow counters doom, masacre is cheese for sunspot, and you can bait stealthy's evade pretty easily. You're the problem if you can't fight 6r3s with 5r4s

There's nothing special about rounds 11 through 15 in terms of what the arena is doing. What seems to be happening is the arena is sending linearly increasing difficulty from rounds 1 through 10, and then a steeper curve from 11 through 20, but in a continuous manner. The actual champion difficulty might jump around because the actual champions people possess aren't perfectly smooth in defensive difficulty, but it is close. Most people do not see the accelerating difficulty rise from rounds 15 through 20 because by then most players have either entered infinite streak or they've lost streak. And it is less obvious below round 15 because most players use some form of infinite streak strategy that manipulates the strength of the teams they bring into the arena from round to round (increasing. decreasing, sandbag, etc) that also obfuscates this difficulty curve.

You need to learn sandbagging and save your power controllers or heavy damage dealers for the streak.
I learnt it when I had 100k roster.

Tell me one reason why it's not fair, when you have won not 1, not 2, but all of the fights there. If you call this bad, prepare for the worse.

My wording could be wrong, but what I'm stating is just something YOU need to realize. You're just developing to grind arenas. Of course, when that happens, deathmatches are often. You should optimistically work for another 5 rounds and there, you are back at 3 Multiplier.
