Used to play plat 1 and plat 2. War was my favorite part of the game. Then my alliance got burned out on war after several iterations of Kabam tweaks and decided to take it easy for a few seasons. Then the Kabam prestige matchmaking thing happened and we wound up playing master/plat 1 alliances even though we had dropped down to plat 4. Frustration mounted and my alliance of several years blew up. Now I play casual no items war for gold 1 and it's fun again. I don't know if I'll play it competitively again or not.
Even tho Season was cut down from the even longer lenght we had at start, it's still way too long. From the side of managing an alli, Season is also an incovenient when it comes to recruitment.
As to the map, I applaude the recent removal of linked nodes, but for me that's still not enough to entice me to the least enjoyable iteration of AW I've ever played. I call it the Korg Mixmaster Version.
The small increase in rewards (G2 level) was no way enough to make me want to endure this mode as it currently is.
We hover around the plat 3/4 level. It’s not super stressful in my alliance, we do it. But the expectation is that life comes first, and most of us don’t use many items. So the casual grind is worth it for the rewards
Not that any of my comments are visible on the forums anymore, but I only play war 5 times a season to qualify for rewards Stopped doing war when season 1 came out and recently got back into it even though I still don’t find it enjoyable. .
