It’s the summer of PAIN, not the summer of comfy pillows.
It's not a challenge to rank up 4* champs, it's a waste of t4cc and iso.
Not if you want the juicy SoP rewards, IMO.
People think ISO and cats are a finite resource. We will find the resource as we play the game. If it is required to rank up 4 star Storm for this challenge, why not do it and try to earn that point. I have ranked up 5 stars required for specific lanes when exploring act 6. Ranking up a 4 star to complete a challenge is nothing.
I know this is summer of pain but to have essentially a cash grab for something that is only available for a week would be a new low for Kabam so hopefully they don't stoop to that level.

What cash grab?
In LOL you literally cannot complete a single fight with a 4 star without using a revive. To me thats a cash grab. You may think thats just par for the course but I don't like using resources when the odds are imbalanced in such a fashion.

I thought you were talking about champion restrictions. I have not done the LOL carina challenges even though I have the champs because I consider the cost too high. I won't call it a cash grab, you can farm enough resources and do it without spending. It's a resource drainer for sure. But, it is a permanent content and can be done anytime. But, SOP is single fights, I don't think we may need that many revives to complete 1 fight unless its 3 star cyclops vs collector. We have 1 week time and infinite practice fights too.
Isn't roster development part of the game? Why do people want content to be tuned to their particular roster. You can introduce this gate, but not this gate. If you are thronebreaker, you should have a decent roster with all the champs at this point as a 3 or 4 star. Remember they gave those challenges as a 3 or 4 star as champion specific. The only 5 star challenge that was very champion specific was kamala one and we got that in one of the challenges. The 6.1.5 challenge with mutants, you could use any of the mutants specified. If it was a 3 or 4 star challenge, I won't mind it. If it is a 5 star challenge, i won't still mind, buy I understand that not everyone has every 5 star.
Bc there are a ton of people that think every single fight should be able to be done with every single champion which is just about the most absurd thing you could think of. What would be the point in having 200 playable champions if all you needed was 5?

It strains the idea of cash grab to the breaking point to say that content that requires any resource to complete including resources a free to play player can obtain without spending any actual cash is a cash grab. It makes the whole idea meaningless, because it means a game can be a cash grab without costing any money. Is it even a bad thing for a game to be a cash grab, if this is what being a cash grab means?
To me, a game that has content with certain resource requirements to complete that also offers in-game ways to earn those resources is what I actually find desirable in a game. That's basically fundamental resource management, a feature I want in most games I play.

If Carina’s Challenges were temporary, I’d tend to agree that the LoL challenges are cash grabby. But they are permanent. The game gives you all the time you want and need to grind revives and potions before taking a crack at it. There’s no requirement to spend any money, or even a single unit with sufficient preparation.
I was initially extremely unhappy with those objectives because I tend to throw myself at new content day 1 and try to beat it. But having taken time to cool down, these are all super reasonable. And not a cash grab.
So, if a 4 star champion earns you end game rewards... doesn't that actually make them relevant to end game players?
Folks are complaining that 4 star aren't relevant. Though... how is that possible if enough content comes out that requires them? Doesn't that in itself make them relevant? What is the reason we collect and rank up 6 stars? For progression. To prepare to tackle the next piece of content. Other than for strictly collection purposes, that's literally the reason for developing your account. To do content and earn rewards. If 4 star champs can earn end game rewards, doesn't that mean they *are* part of your progression? And a valuable part of your roster at that point?
Just saying, what is relevant in any game is determined by, well.. the game. This being said, I think 4 star rank up gems should really be a thing. An additional prize tacked on top of other rewards. Not Instead of, of course.

You can't resource manage a "cash grab" that goes away in a week. If this were permanent content than I wouldn't mind it but if I have to do an LOL challenge with a 4 star for summer of pain, it would literally take days to get enough revives to do it without spending (if I have the time). This is what I'm speaking against as an objective. If it stays as presently constructed where all champs are available then I wouldn't have brought this up but we don't know what will follow after week 4 and the easy stage is done.

Well your logic doesn't apply to summer of pain because we only have a week to complete each objective. I'm just speaking against having a challenge to where we would need a massive amount of revives to complete that is outside of our control which is the skill we bring to the table.
