I feel like people are just completely bypassing the fact that you also get 10 super fabulous (or whatever the actual name is) crystals that get you a minimum of 20 units, with a chance at another piece of 6* Platpool. I'm not saying this makes it a super reasonable deal, but Platinumpool as a champion is literally built to be a trophy champion. He is shiny, not super necessary, but a massive flex on other players. For .75 of a 6* crystal, which I will remind you is already an RNG-fest of everything from Doom to Deadpool X-force, you instead get a guaranteed value of 200 units, or even the crazy impossible chance at 1,000 units and ten more 6* Platpool parts. We don't have the unit drop rates, and of course the parts are rare (1.25% drop rate, right?), but this is not just a throwaway addition.
My thoughts, as someone who is no longer willing to spend on the game (it's been years and I spent a total of 10$ for basically nothing, but I don't want people giving me **** about calling myself "free to play" if I am technically not, though the difference is entirely negligible) but was somehow able to pull 5* Platpool super early on last time: Don't love how statistically almost impossible difficult this is to assemble for people who are not willing to pay for it, but I'm not blind to the fact that there is already a legacy of impossible (OG Deadpool) to just extremely improbable (lookin' at you Immortal Iron Fist, Goldpool, Thanos, Kang) champs that I can get. I appreciate the fact that a tiny percent of people that will not buy the offer will somehow pull him, but even so.....
I'm also really hoping that the 6th piece is not also behind a paywall since that, so far, has not been available to anyone and hints toward some crazy difficult or unique release (wish they did something cool/new with the other 6* piece releases but I get it).

As a matter of fact, it was this fact that caused me to buy the Fabulous package immediately. I spent 7500 5* shards and I got 450 units. Heck I would make that trade constantly if I could.
Suppose I got the same amount of units for the crystals in the Super Fab deal. People are saying you are trading 7500 6* shards for what is essentially 1/6th of a 6* champ, or about 1666 6* shards. But the question is: how many 6* shards would you value 450 units at? Depending on which offers and how you count, the game values 6* champs at something between about 2500 and 5000 units. However, I know many players that would not spend that many units on a 6* crystal. If you're someone who would buy a 6* crystal for 4500 units, then 450 units is worth about 1000 shards. But if you're someone that wouldn't buy a 6* crystal for that many units, and you'd have to see it for less than 2000 units before you bought, you're saying in effect that 450 units is worth at least 2250 6* shards. Depending on how much you value 6* shards, you could be getting the equivalent of 3900 6* shards of value.
That still sounds less than 7500, but then there's the question of what you're getting. The 3900 is 3900 of the 10000 needed to get the 6* Platpool, which of course you don't have. It is guaranteed to be a new champ. A 10k 6* crystal has a chance to be a new champ, and a chance to be 20 sig stones. For me, the odds of getting a new champ from a basic crystal are about 45%, which means 10k of shards generates the rough equivalent of 4500 shards towards a new champ. The comparison between the shards and the Platpool gets much closer.
Of course, you have to want the Platpool, for whatever reason, or this is all meaningless. If you do, then depending on your situation the Platpool pieces and units could be worth enough to be worth the 6* shards. It isn't just a question of the numbers at a glance. They are not as bad as they look on the surface.
Ok so while spending 7500 crystals shards is way too expensive, kabam made those shards more accessible by giving the possibility to freely get those shards in the Daily Bugle Store !
That donβt make the offer less expensive but as those shards are nearly « givenΒ Β», it makes the offer affordableβ¦ i guess π€π
Thanks @Crcrcrc@GroundedWisdom. I've been trying to decide whether to burn the 6* frags but I do love the units from those crystals and will probably get the 6* eventually so I think I will.
