I did some testing. From what I see his synergy with the champion won't change, so I used it. Also I used a 6* rank 2.
Let's say that at sig 1 his increased Attack is 60%, which means the Gulk Synergy. A critical medium hit deals around 6k without Armor Breaks. If there's an Armor Break and Thor inflicts a Stun that means most likely around 23k a crit medium. Light attacks deal around 4.5k a crit so around 17k. The last hit of the sp 1 deals around 9k a crit so around 33k. Non Critical hits deal around half of these values.
Now let's talk about max sig. A crit medium deals 8.5k so around 31k. A crit light deals 5.5k so around 22.5 k. Last hit of sp 1 as a crit deals 11k so around 40k damage.
Keep in mind this damage is with only 1 Armor Break. With more of them and increased Potency this damage increases.
I have done multiple fights agains WS with two teams to most likely match his new buffed version. First team: The Champion and Gulk. Most times it ended in around 145 hits. Second team: The Champion, Gulk, White Mags + Pre-Fight and K.O.-ed Fury. Most times it ended in around 125 hits.
Is he better in terms of damage? Yea because you don't need a whole team dedicated to him but you still need The Champion. Do I regret the message I sent before? No, the main reason is because of the small amount of utility. I do agree I was salty but I'm dissapointed by his little utillity.
I think that we all need to remember when Kabam announced doing monthly buffs last year, one of there focuses was helping progressing playersβ¦ not end gamers. I think that is great and all, but so far, IMO anyway, weβve gotten like 5-6 buffs in just under a year that actually impactful for Cav and beyond. It would be nice if more of these buffs made me want to use these champs in EQ or act 7.I would list the 5-6 I think that were useful for everyone , but no doubt that will just cause a ruckus and bickering.
For me, Thorβs buff would be awesome if I pulled him as one of my first 4* in act 3/4. For me now, my duped 5* will stay at r2 and my 6* will stay unleveled at r1.
Agreed. The majority of these buffs seem to be aimed at removing the sting of crystal openings (give or take your Diablos and Molegods) and allow for them to be useful for Acts 1-5.
For those that have a couple 5R5 or 6R1's, most of these don't move the needle (ie. Wouldn't choose to rank Thor Rag over the Skill champs they already have).
This is becoming word soup. The values change buffs will not be as significant as the actual moderate or overhaul ones in general. Every once in a while you might have a values-change buff that seems quite impressive, but they will be few and far between. I.E. They won't all be Angela.
wait wait wait, this is the myth I was talking about. That is simply not true.
What do you mean every once in a while? 66% of tune ups have been successful and 70% of overhauls have too. In what world is 4% difference "every once in a while". If you disagree with my numbers and evaluation of which buffs are successful that's one thing, but to continue perpetuating this myth is an entirely separate matter.
I thought you meant the ability change is less significant, but by saying "They won't all be angela", you genuinely mean that tune ups are less significant in terms of overall use and increase in usability, don't you?
First of all, where are you getting your statistics and what are you calling successful? Secondly, I'm talking about values-only changes.
He literally explained where he got his numbers in a previous post...
Strike rate (amount of hits) isn't really a measurement that Kabam necessarily uses. They don't go into ROL and fight WS. That's neither here nor there. I'm talking about the values-only buffs. Count the amount of values-only changes and the number that people consider a success, and you'll see they're fewer than the majority. Further to that, the best isn't a standard for all values-only buffs. They vary depending on how the values affect the Champs. Regardless, my comments stand. People can draw their own conclusions.
Still not worth t5b outside of prestige. Still a bitter-pill rank-up, even if his damage winds up being insane.
If he was gonna stay an sp3-rotation champion, his power gain should've been improved. Or make it where his power gain can't be messed with, though that would open a can of worms.
He may not be an account changing champ like Mole or KP but he looks like fun to play now.
I agree. Itβs Thor. I would like to bring a Thor to AQ or clear a quest or something like that (at the least). This buff looks like heβll end up at BWDO territory or someone fun and niche. At the very least
I think this looks okay - at least it'll make him useful Unawakened, or as an early champ for beginning players. So if I pull him as a 6*, I can need around with him, without needing him to be Awakened.
Also, I love the fact the damage boost from his "Friend from Work" synergy is basically now part of his Sig
Small detail others may have missed (@Crcrcrc ) - iHulk and Overseer now have access to Rags' nice little Invulnerability Passive via his "Friends from Work" synergy. That little beauty helped me Hulk my way past The Collector many years ago. Nice that it's Passive now, too.
He looks much better now! And I love that he no longer requires max sig (well, for damage at least).
My (sig 60) 5R3 Thor Rags will be so awesome next to my 5R3 (sig 60) Kingpin, my 5R3 (sig 20) Moleman, my 5R3 Hitmonkey and who knows who else... Too bad that it only makes sense that I work on 6* champs now...

In any case, hard pass.
