This is not based on the number of Items you personally used, but the average difference between what people sued before and after. Summoners still used potions and revives on this fight after the Fix went live, and this is based on what the data we collected shows for the difference.
What if no one would have finished?
What if most of the people who completed before are top skilled players with r4 champions?
How many people do you know ranking up mercs to r4?
Wasn’t apoc with reed the best option for the venompool fight? I am sure people would have apoc at r4.

I appreciate this is the way it was done for the SoP as well, but that method by design short changes half of the people who did it.
If the average was 1 revive extra then that means 50% used less than 1 revive extra and 50% used more than 1 revive extra. The method of compensation here immediately gives 50% of players less than they used.
Is it possible for you to explain the decision here to not say, “ok why don’t we go for the 75th percentile, just to make sure we don’t automatically alienate half of our players who attempted this mistaken content”
Unless they are looking at it differently, this isn't how averages work. More likely, if 100 people used a total of 100 extra revives, there will be a few people who used a ton that make up most of that 100, and most will have used 0 or 1 extra revive
This compensation is perfect for me. Ill keep my money during Cyber Weekend instead of spending the $700 I normally do. Thanks Kabam! Enough is enough.
It took me 3 attempts to take down that venompool with big boosts to add. I died 3-4 times from sp3 with that dpx. When bug was fixed, I was able to solo dpx with a 14% health domino.
You could not kill xforce since he gained power to sp3 without power control options being allowed. Period. Do something right for once Kabam. I hope the community pays it back for Black Friday. I am going to spend less than my average. Instead of the $200 I was planning, here comes 0. If Kabam doesn't care about my account, I really don't either... Not anymore.

Why did some people get 1, some people got 2, and some people got 3?
This doesn't concern me, because I waited for the fix (and won't get any comp, that's fair). However I cannot imagine the average amount of revives being used is 1. The boss was terrible. Had to be oneshot, or bye-bye.
Imo the reason why the average is so low is, that players had to use Mr.F prefights w Apoc in majority of cases (I mean lets face it, who has r5 sabre+KM and not have Apoc?). Well, and Mr.F gives the prefight for one fight only, so players had to reset the quest rather than use revives
@Kabam Miike why does compensation have to be a zero sum endeavor. I'm sure your analysis is right. A certain percentage of folks used a certain amount of revives versus others afterwards. The compensation should not only make the average community whole, it should be an apology for releasing content that was not enjoyable. This is a game that people are supposed to enjoy and many people pay Kabam for the pleasure. But when you release content that is bugged or next to impossible to defeat, the game becomes frustrating and unsatisfactory. As a community we see this type of compensation insulting in light of the recent defects in the game.

Yes you're right if they looked at the mean, I suppose it depends how they were looking at it, if they data was skewed as you suggested and whether it was median or mean they used.

Why you gotta go and say the same thing I did but more elaborately and eloquently?
Pray tell why you must pose an identical remark that I, myself, have observed - and yet more intricate and articulate?
Thou speaks as a rose, while my tongue moves as the thorns below.

I probably shouldn't have said "based on the average", because we don't use the average to determine what we're giving as Compensation, but we do look at it. We usually cut out the top and bottom outliers, and then aim to be on the more generous side when we do these things.
But that does still mean that no matter where we land, somebody will have probably used more or less than what is returned. In an ideal world, we'd be able to work this out on an individual level, but that's just not possible, or would result in Compensation taking several months to complete.

First, it's supposed to be used not sued Second, why? You have the data on what each person used, just give us back that. If it is more than what you think we 'deserve' too bad. Consider it an incentive for the dev team to properly test content before its release.

In an ideal world, your team would test content before it is released so stuff like this doesn't happen.
Think i got 4 revives and 4 level 5 pots - reminiscent of that compensation about 6-8 weeks back (actually it was SOP). Guess it equates as I died once on the ch 1 deadpool and twice on venompool before I realised he wasn't updated. Still not really appreciative of the stress involved with playing bugged content unknowingly.

In my head, I just assumed they used the median
The median i'm sure is zero because people had 5 champs to kill him, not 1. I fought him once, it took my whole team, realized it was bugged so just waited a few days to do the rest of the paths in that quest. In reality, once you got to xpool and he used an sp3, you can just quit the quest and all you lost was the energy.

Yeah for sure, i was going off the presumption they would ignore anyone who didn’t use items seeing as what’s the point including them, they obviously weren’t affected.
As we both suspected, Miike’s comment above confirms they don’t include the outliers at the top, or at the bottom.

YOU HAD BOUGUS BUSTED CONTENT. Screw averages and what you think is fair. You could have easily given everyone a package that was actually generous. You have had a terrible month and should be ashamed of your company. This packages should have had minimum 500 units 5 revives, 3 team revives, two 30% boosts one 20% attack boost and one 25% health boost, 10 level 5 potions 5 level 3 team health potions and one of each class power boosts.

It depends on how much you’d completed/explored before it was changed
