I'm a lil biased on this because I will never own an iphone and it's a bit frustrating lol (my id has nothing to do with apple, I hate their products)...
Shouldn't a "legends" title be about who the best summoners are in the game.. not who can run an event the fastest on the latest iphone or ipad? Bit unfair to us on droid.. the game is ported to us so it loads slower.
Anyone here ever get a legends title on a droid device?
Yeah I miss having an Android phone that crashed my apps, loved the lower resolution screen. Also loved how complex it was to sync up all those calendar, email and scheduling apps. God I miss the days of having to defrag my computer weekly. Spend thousands to get a decent screen...
Apple, yeah they suck...what could they possibly be doing right...
sounds like u had a pretty crappy phone.. sorry to hear that. It's 2017 not 2009 now though lol
@_ASDF_ what they can be doing right is having a user base that spends more money. Apple vs Android spec wise Android wins. Games are designed in apple because it is 1 system so it is cheaper to do initial build than Android. And on average an apple user spends more money on apps than an Android user. Also because Android is open source it is easier for fake versions of the game to come out like the Pokemon go knockoff. So it generates more money for the company to have a priority on Apple.
I would say... no. They should add other ways to get a Legends title, but the time attack being one of them is fine.
The idea behind Legends titles is the competition. So, yeah you could have a competition of like "beat these 4 bosses that have a bunch of nodes and take no hits and get a legend title," but for the time being the time attack is a fine way to do it.
The better way to post something like this is actually put out an idea. Got an idea for another way to make MCoC competitive? A great idea for a way to grab a Legends title?
Post it in the suggestions. People do read and listen to these posts even if they don't always agree.
Legend title should just be for doing LOL 100%. You are a legend for that, all that work you out in, difficult content. Deserves a legend badge, not sitting there for 4 and something hours(or less), fighting easy enemies.
The time trial for heroic/master difficulty quest doesn't scream legend at all, for the content it has in there anyway.
Master should have the time trial, but just give the t4cc and some other rewards. Not a legends badge, it's sad that you're called a legend for beating easy content.
Basically, whoever beat LOL 100%, deserves a legend badge. Not anyone else, not through a easy quest and not through some time attack.
The thing is, it's a Time Trial. Always has been. With that, the factor of skill is already embedded in that. You need adequate skill to complete whatever Quest fast enough to compete. Which means you need to win the Fights as efficiently as possible. There's not much more that can be done to measure skill outside of that because these Trials are the same for everyone. Same Trial, same level of skill required.
Nope.
Not always has been.
When you had no masteries and you had to be one of the first hundred to complete the RoL it was not a time trial, it was the 100 first ones to complete and not the 100 quickest.
The first 100 is the same as a Time Trial. Literally the first 100. I.E. Fastest.

That is not true.. first 100 to complete could include people finishing in 5-6-7 hours vs someone 2 weeks later doing it faster than they did.

I dunno about only people who finish LoL... what happens when there's LoL2? I think any hard content could give legends titles.. just based on skill of the event not speed of completion.

It's first-come-first-serve, the same as other Legends Tags. Regardless of how much time it.takes, both cases are the same. All 100 could finish minutes before the time limit is up and it would still count. ROL and LOL had longer times because the content was more challenging, and they're permanent fixtures of the game. It's the same principle. First 100/Best 100 Times.

You realize people wait to do a "legends run" when they have the champs available right? This would eliminate that.

When LOL2 or ROL2 come to be, if they do, I'm sure they will have Legends Tags as well. The argument of skill doesn't really apply because Legends Runs are based on the first 100. Which are the same as the fastest 100. Whatever content the Tag is for, it's the same. What your original point was really has nothing to do with skill vs. no skill. It has to do with Apple vs. Android. One is faster.
Last time I checked.... running was still an Olympic sport.
That's fine last I checked the guy who placed 90 the didn't get a prize
In a finals event no. My analogy is pointing out the fact that speed is still a measure of accomplishment in many sports, so I don't see why it's not considered here. Even if you were the 90th fastest person in the world, I'm sure it much faster than most people in the world. Same goes here, top 100 fastest are probably much better than the average MCoC player.
The 90th ranked player of any sport is going to thrash any average player in that sport and even at that rank they're probably making a living at it and possibly even winning tournaments.
The fastest players in MCoC still need to avoid dying and using revives, and get their opponents down as quickly as possible, because as everyone has pointed out that load times all add up.
Most would say placing 100th in a race one time is pretty far from legend status
Some would say that no one remembers who came second. The cutoff is rather arbitrary, legendary could be top 10, top 100. Just don't come in second and claim greatest of all time.
Seems like the issue is being conflated here. Since Android users are burdened with excessive load times, a speed run isn't considered a measure of skill. Well, no... it is. It's just not providing a level playing field in this game.
If everyone has the same load times or Kabam were to exclude them from times, the number of people complaining about speed runs not being a measure of skill would diminish significantly.
It's not that speed intrinsically provides no measure of skill, it's just that it isn't a fair measure in this case.

Hence the legend leaderboard.

Can’t understand you through the tears bro.
Don’t care either.

MY SUGGESTION:
(1)
top 100 iPhone users
top 100 android users
or
(2) count only fight times rather than loading times.
I will be attempting legend title (The Goldblum) soon with my OnePlus2 device. I'll update my time on the forum to see how others have performed.
