I have a new found love for DDHK!

Yes, I lost the series (should have beaten Doom, but made one mistake and curtains), but DDHK made mincemeat out of Mags. I'm pleasantly surprised.

i don't get the frowns about DDHK .. i love him after his buff ... his animations are so clean and he can do a lot of damage if played right. he's one of my favorites.

His buff was good, but it put him in the spot prebuff mole man and terrax were in. Solid, could use a few tweaks and he’s perfect.

Sorry if if you aren't aware, we may be out of luck even for tweaks @ChaosMax1012 .

Unless something changes, or he gets some improvement via synergies or changed Masteries, what we've got is this. We tried debating for a few tweaks but the response was as attached.

Im a fan of the guy too, and don’t care if he gets buffed or not as he’s pretty fun, got solid damage, and some cool abilities other champs don’t have. Unfortunate he won’t receive any further tweaks because that’s all he needs to become the perfect DDHK but what we have can still be used for some content. Do hope they consider atleast increasing the duration of his buffs at the very least though.

DDHK is a great champion. Never be ashamed to rank champs that aren’t God tier +. I have r3 sig 200 Doctor Strange. He’s not god tier but I enjoy using him in Cav Diff. He cleans up every month. BUT he still needs a tune up.

I'm jealous of you having yours s200.
    Mines r3, but unduped 😭

Is there anywhere a guide to DDHK? I'm interested but never found my way to him. @Rookie ?

I’ll just add this on top:
At max sig he reduces Passive Degen and Direct Damage by 100% - this means he takes no damage from Korg, Electro, Maw, Mojo, Thorns, etc. when you are attacking in Stick’s Apprentice.
He purifies non-damaging debuffs in Murdock Boy - this includes debuffs such as Concussion, Power Sting, Armour Break, Falter, Power Lock, etc. which make him a good counter for Yellowjacket, Spider-Ham, Quake, Maw, Aarkus, etc.

Doesn't the purify of Power Stings against a awakened YJ cause him to get stunned?
If you do it at the wrong time, a combo to the face is bad

Thanks! Finally I understand how to play him and he has synergies with many champs I play and like (VP, SGwen, Masacre etc). Now I just need to learn him lol

No it completely purifies it and adds 5 hits to your Combo meter. No Stun thankfully.

I was about to suggest Megaskater's one as well. It's a very pro-DDHK article and whatever your opinions it hits all the main points.

I think for balance, after you've read that and consumed all its informative goodness, the downsides need to be stated as well, because it's as useful to know where not to use a champion.

DDHK's terrible with Suicides - arguably worse than any other champion in the game. He struggles when hit by damaging Debuffs because the Willpower healing is so compromised. He also struggles against nodes where regeneration is part of it (Aspect of Nightmares, for example).

But all that said, enjoy giving the kit a spin @Kerneas :)

Ah. Good to know. I never get powerstinged against YJ but good to have the info. Cheers 🥂.

I’m writing this, being the owner of a 5R5 sig 200 one, which I ranked up after his buff and prior to adding the Miss bypass to his kit:

The best part of his buff is the Miss bypass, which was added 2 months after his main overhaul. Kabam moves in mysterious ways…

I occasionally use him and I enjoy doing so. if you are not running suicides( I don’t) he is a solid champion with some unique utility at max sig. that’s about it. His overhaul took him from useless to occasionally useful.

He also has a decent kit of synergies with some great champs. I mainly use him with She-Hulk.

All the above dont change the fact that we all expected more from his overhaul. Still rather disappointed, Daredevil being my favorite Marvel character. I’m still holding some hope for a righteous overhaul to the original one, which will probably never happen.

Thank you for that writeup, those could be some serious downsides, but I don't run suicides, which makes half the problem go away.

For me, DDHK is gonna be one of my many fun champs. I have him 5* r2 now, he'll eventually go to r3. And there he will join my army of fun to play champs. I take those into AQ (we run map 2-3), or just for a spin in UC EQ from time to time. For serious stuff I have my 6*s and maxed 5*s, but champs like DDHK are for fooling around in low level content. The main selling point for me are his synergies, that I'll use to create a nice team that supports each other.

I appreciate the kind comments in this thread haha. It’s been a while since I’ve written a guide like that, hopefully I can start doing those again soon. But as you can probably tell I’m a huge fan of DDHK, he’s my favourite skill champ in the game and one of my favourite buffs as well. He’s particularly good for me because I use a lot of the synergy champs already, Gwen and Psylocke are two that I use a lot.

    It's a good guide, credit where it's due :)

If Kabam ever grace my account with a 6* Psylocke I'll be putting some time in and probably R2 her to go alongside Bishop too. I think she'd suit me really well. Spider-Gwen is an awesome champ, overlooked by many but I use her a lot - she's great with Peni too.

But that Regen Rate for DDHK, eurgh :s - it's a sledgehammer to crack a nut scenario. Just making the Rage Debuff limit the possible max Regen from it instead would have been far more elegant. I hope as a mechanic it never gets used again.

A buff to Psylocke would be welcomed. She’s great in the comics

Please don’t buff Psylocke lol, she’s fine as she is and another of my favourites. Massive utility and can get access to a lot of damage with apoc, especially as a horseman
I see her buff being something like - move her sig ability into her base kit - give her a numbers buff and a new sig.
