Its not needed by any means. But I wouldnt say its useless. It can make clearing content that seemed challenging before a lot more interesting when you can now breeze through old content with an r4 6*. Or if your like me and slip up a lot in fights, you got a better chance to survive your mistakes
Currently? Literally just for prestige wars. Even 6r3s are overkill, just makes quest a little bit easier. There is no content right now that requires even a 6r3
They aren’t needed for solo content, sure, doesn’t mean they’re useless, and no you’re not getting by with 5-65s in war when there are r4s around, you’re at a huge disadvantage, aq in itself is easy but they matter for prestige
