For those that might not understand, MCOC makes one champion model and uses it on the right side and mirror reflects it for the left side (or the other way around, I forget which). Why not just spin them around like a normal person? The assumption is because the way the animations and visual FX are designed, they are intended to be viewed from one side and not the other. If they rotated the models from one side of the screen to the other side, animations that look good from one side would be seen from the other side and may not look as well. By mirror reflecting, animations and vfx intended to be seen from one side are still seen from that same side when translated from one side of the screen to the other. The side effect though is that right and left are reversed.

For example, for the picture posted above, imagine if the left side model had her back to the player instead of her front. That wouldn't look as good. So most likely everything is designed with a preferred "player facing" orientation, and mirror reflection preserves that orientation.

Correct ( @DNA3000 's explanation). For those who haven’t been in game long enough to have already heard this previously for Winter Soldier and Aegon.

And correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the only champ whose design was indeed made to have a 2nd/alternate copy instead of mirrored (or at least, a partial portion of their design) is Daredevil (classic) whose “DD” logo on his chest was I believe made to read correctly no matter if he is on the left or right fighting side of screen. Not initially, but was changed soon after original release if I recall.
