Agree with most of the above....just want to add:

8. Before making a "this fight is bugged/silent nerf" post....take a minute to actually read the nodes of the fight and the abilities of the champ you are fighting against. Bugs definitely DO happen/exist, but there are also many posts where the poster did not take an extra minute to read.

Im new at forum can someone give me any tips

1. Read before you write. Message forums are like parties. Read the room before you decide to start shouting.
2. Always be polite. We can't see you, we don't know you. Sarcasm, flippancy, that kind of stuff doesn't come through in text. It takes a while to know when you can break this rule. As evidenced by the fact that almost no one does it right.
3. We have good people, we have bad people, like any group of people. Respect the good people, ignore the bad people, and most important don't become one of the bad people.
4. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Be afraid to point fingers. There's a lot to know about the game: no one knows all of it. There's a lot to know about the forums as well, and few know all of that as well. Presume you don't know, and ask. If you presume you do know and start pointing fingers, you've just flagged yourself for PvP. You're on your own.

Well before i get another threatening ban for speaking the reality Kabam doesnt want to here…they are thieves,its all lies and cons,NOTHING in the game is a real world item that you could use anywhere so its best to just leave the game and let Kabams devs or the really cool moderators here tell you how awesome it is…for christ sake they keep apologizing for gameplay issues they cant fix.But they can add more ridiculous stuff to pile on top of it.I dont care if i get banned from this chat either,you have no real power over me Kabam,just sit in your mommas basement and eat your hot pockets…i know you were the lonely dorks in school and life haha

This is an excellent and very densely packed exemplar for what a new poster should try to avoid on the forums: well done. Let's unpack this, because I think this deserves to be dissected and discussed for educational purposes.

OP: discussing moderation decisions on the forums is prohibited. Some leeway is sometimes given, but not much. Also, you're not allowed to circumvent forum bans by signing up for another forum account. If you're discovered doing this, you can be insta-banned without warning. So behave reasonably, don't assume you can get banned and just come back.

As a matter of style, never post simultaneously angry and with typos: it looks funny and you won't be able to make your point effectively. But here, the more critical thing to highlight is that conspiracy theories are not allowed on the forums. Discussing baseless ideas about nefarious ways in which Kabam operates either the game or the forums is subject to moderation and disciplinary action.

Calling people out directly is also prohibited by the forum rules. This means you can't directly attack another poster, or moderator, or Kabam employees or the company. Some griping is allowed, but generally personal attacks are forbidden.

"I'm quitting the game" posts are, in general, not allowed. Some players retire gracefully, and if those threads don't go off the rails they are left alone, but anyone trying to go out in a blaze of glory tends to go out like a squib instead.

Also, this is just my personal position, nonsensical posts are not strictly forbidden, but I might make fun of them. Like if you're going to leave the game, maybe leave the forums as well. Why anyone would stop playing a mobile game but stick around to hear the developers "tell you how awesome it is" I cannot fathom, and I really cannot understand why someone would *recommend* doing that. Seems weird to me. Not prohibited, but strange.

In general, gripes about the game that are unproductive are not allowed, although they aren't always strictly moderated. However, gripes about specific issues that have discussion threads dedicated to them but are spammed elsewhere are more likely to be moderated. So while some fun tangents are allowed (such as the legendary pineapple pizza tangent) these should be used in moderation and not derail threads.

There's a saying: "never argue with a man who buys ink by the barrel." If you keep saying you don't care if you get banned, prepare to get banned, because they don't care either.

Finally, a word of advice. Ready? Okay. Try as hard as possible to not think of an elephant. First thing that popped into your head, right? Now: someone is calling you a basement dweller eating hot pockets. What do you picture them doing right now?

Yep: don't do that. I learned that back in 1987. Although now that I think about it, back then I was in college living in my parents' basement. But not eating hot pockets: I was into Totino's party pizzas (99 cents back then). Pepperoni. No pineapple.

Why on earth are you playing this game? Kabam is eating hot pockets in basements making millions and meanwhile you are playing a game that you obviously hate? Makes sense...

Joining in on the party with the ever-growing thread of forum rules and ettiquette.

Some friendly advice I like to give to new arrivals :

1) Don't revive old threads
2) Don't make threads on a topic on which there are already numerous threads. Take time to scroll through the recent discussion, and maybe make a quick search
3) Don't ask about the best champ, it's Quake
4) Don't ask about the second best either, it's Ghost. The community largely agrees on these two statements
5) Don't make best champion of ____ class threads either
6) Don't ask for compensation. Please. We have enough of the threads
7) Don't make any post about Elsa Bloodstone. Period
8) Domino is not the best mutant, don't even try to argue. She doesn't even come close
9) Don't spam threads and/or comments
10) Don't complain about content being too hard. Maybe ask for tips instead
11) Don't make "Rate my roster" threads either. If you want to flex, call it a flex
12) Don't demand champion buffs just because you pulled them as a 5* or a 6*. Buffs are planned months ahead, and Kabam isn't going to drop what they doing and work on your champ just because you demand

Some new 'guidelines' I've had to think of due to recent incidents:

13) Don't make a post for every crystal pull. Once in a while, showcasing some epic pull is fine, but we really don't need to see every single one
14) Don't be really whiny and entitled, and don't constantly demand free stuff
15) You don't need to make a new thread every day
16) Avoid excessive use of capslock
17) Turn off global chat
18) Tier lists seldom go over well here. Proceed with caution

Lastly, be nice to the other members of the forums. It's okay to have hot takes, but make sure you aren't rude, after all, we're here to talk about the game and have a good time.

There's a lot of code and shorthand on this and other forums. For example, OP = Original Poster

Special mention for "Git gud", which means "I spend an unhealthy amount of time playing this game and surfing the forums, and could choose to answer your question, but because of my deep-seated insecurities, I'm choosing to belittle you to make myself feel momentarily superior". Ignore anyone who uses this phrase as if it's an answer.

If you aren't sure what some random-looking group of letters means, Google it before assuming it's a spelling mistake.

If you have a question about an aspect of the game which you're finding tricky, do use the Search function* (which works around 3/4 of the time) to see if someone has already asked/answered it. But if they haven't, then ask away: 95% of forum users who respond, will respond constructively and helpfully. Ignore the 5% who aren't.

*You may find doing the same thing useful in YouTube. There's a lot of stuff there about how to play. Some very useful stuff, plus conspiracy theories on demand from Prof Hoff. I'd suggest you avoid him and look for Dork Lessons and RichTheMan, who will be genuinely educational and helpful.

1. Another helpful tip is that, after searching the forums for a similar topic and finding nothing, try to describe your situation with a reasonable amount of detail. Sure, you could ask "Who should I rank up? Quake or Ronin?" There are a lot of other helpful bits of information that would help us help you more. Maybe you run the suicide masteries. Maybe you are comparing 6* Ronin with 5* Quake. Maybe you are trying to finish some specific bit of content next that Quake doesn't work well for. Maybe you'd just really hate her play style. Maybe you're Masterpuff in disguise. All information that you could easily give us that would make our advice more constructive and relevant.

2. Please structure your posts. You get a small pass if English isn't your first language, but there are often posts that ramble on and seem to forget to use understandable grammar... or punctuation ,, or ever end a sentence and then they just switch to another topic and dont eve n make it clear to the reader and it is just both really difficult to read and difficult to answer properly and if you also happen to.... be making fun of someone else or Kabam while posting like this ,, then prepare to get demolished.

3. Unsure why someone took a shot at 5* accounts, but since you're new, I will describe why that actually should be the opposite of what you do. Typically people with more stars have made a better impact on the forum and can on average know more about the game and the forums than those with less stars. The star system was made for that purpose, and just for fun. You get more stars on the forums for getting positive reactions (found under a post) like "Insightful" or "Agree". This doesn't mean that someone is always more reliable (especially because some people spam posts or happen to be extra sarcastic) but typically they can be more reliable.

4. Post counts are not that important. I tend to take someone more seriously when they have a higher positive reaction:post count ratio. If you post like 4 times in a row like Phill did above, that is usually considered spamming and is frowned upon. I'm hoping he is sarcastic, but my hopes aren't high.

5. If a forum account has an orange "Guardian" like DNA3000's instead of stars, they aren't a Kabam employee but instead just a committed community member who I have found extremely reliable at helping to moderate the forums. Their words aren't infallible but they tend to be really insightful and nice.

6. Be positive, and have fun! The forums aren't all just technical questions, but there is a lot of genuinely enjoyable things to be found on them. Enjoy!
