Looks pretty acceptable to me, you got a bonus for beating the defender that he didn't get, but he didn't lose nearly as much health as you and it wasn't enough. Personally, I think he played better overall and that's reflected in the scoring.
I can't wait till they implement this to AW. When you get the W for not beating the boss awesome.
This can already happen because just like battlegrounds where defeating the opponent isn’t an automatic win, defeating the enemies boss in AW isn’t an automatic win.
Imagine a 1 BG vs 1 BG, one BG
You can get a 20,000 point bonus for beating the boss. Alliance 1 beats the boss, but they boss rushed and they only went down 1 path and didn’t get any attack bonuses at all, so they only get 20,000 points for beating the boss. They also get a much lower score for exploration. Lets say 40%? I believe that's around what one path and the boss is for exploration. That's 6300 points. Then a really low diversity of 5 is another 150 points, and 250 for their boss remaining. So a total of 26,700
Alliance 2 didn’t manage to beat the boss, but they explored the entire map and got 49 perfect kills, so 147 full attack bonuses, thats 11,760 for the attack bonuses and lets say 99% exploration, so that gives 15,662 points. Those attack bonuses and exploration are already more than the score alliance 1 got (a total of 27422), even though they cleared the boss. Adding on perfect diversity and 40 or so defenders remaining and you've got a pretty comprehensive win of 27422 + (50*30) + (40*250) = 38,922. Which is an absolute blood bath, even though alliance 2 didn't beat the boss..
What you're complaining about, is as though AW doesn't already have this featured implemented. In Battlegrounds you can lose even though you defeat the boss because you didn't focus on attacker health, in Alliance war you can lose even though you defeat the boss because you didn't focus on attacker bonus/diversity/defenders remaining
That doesn't make sense because this game mode is a lottery you're gonna get bad match UPS and if you pull through you shouldn't get penalized @BitterSteel
Dude you almost died. If this truly was AW then the timer would have had an extra minute or two and he would have beaten you by a mile. You need to play smarter with the time you are given.
If you’d be on 50% I’d say fair enough you deserve the win but as far as Pyrrhic victories go that fight is pretty much the definition. They played far better, had there been another 20s on the clock they’d likely have finished the fight on 90% which is about as much as you can expect.

But it’s not and they didn’t. So what they could have or couldn’t have with extra time is immaterial. Game could have glitched or the opponent could have missed a dex or parry and been knocked out in the extra time. What’s a fact is that with the scoring system in place currently, OP did get the loss.

The objective at the moment isn’t “beat the opponent”. It’s “get more points than the opponent”.
Those points come from beating the opponent yes, but also how fast you do it and how much health you have at the end.
You lost too much health to achieve the objective.

Which part doesn’t make sense?
Do you think defeating a boss in AW should be an automatic win?
