7 stars and Rank 5 resources.

Almost a year ago, the first rank 4 came to the game, only the high spenders had access to them, but now, with act 7 rewards and the unit deal, people have multiple rank 4s. Some top players even have 5 rank 4s.

I believe it is the time for rank 5 resources. What does the community think about this? Is it too early or too late...?

Should we get 7 stars before?

If seven stars were r4 power level at r1 I would be for it as long as they were rare and hard to get. I wouldn’t care. They did a good thing with Transformers Forged to Fight they added a rank 6 option instead of going to six stars.

There will be a point at which 7* are appropriate, but it is not here right now. It’s certainly not time for rank 5 6* materials to be in game while the vast majority of players are only just getting their first R4s and a few who have completed both sets of carinas their second - big spenders excluded obviously.

I’m not sure if we will see 7 stars or not but if we do, whenever it happens people will complain about it being too soon. If it does happen, I won’t see them taking over my roster for at least a year, probably years so I’m happy to keep investing in my six star champs, even once seven starts champs are introduced.

As much as people resist the idea, they felt the same way about 6*s. Yet here we are. While I have no information about their plans, I do think it wise to consider it's a possibility.

I believe that F2P unit grinders could have up to 3 r4 champions right now. Grandmaster’s Gauntlet, SoP, Carina’s, Act 7, and the Act 7 completion offer plus whatever unit offers they had in the past.

That being said, *if* the game goes to 7* champions, I imagine it will be at a point where players have full battlegrounds deck’s worth of r4 champions. So uhhhhh it’s gonna be a bit.

I do definitely understand that logic, and I used to think it myself, but I also would just ask would you think that about 9*s, or 15*s, or 38* champions if we got there?

And if you can’t apply the same logic of “well you didn’t quit when they introduced X* champions”, like you did for 7*s just then, then why not? I think there is definitely some point in the game that people would get tired of repeating the same grind for the next star level. Who knows, maybe 7*s isn’t the point where that happens. But then again, maybe it is.

Yes, if the game last long enough to see any of those stars levels then I would expect it to happen. This is not a horizontal progression game it is a vertical progression game. By design it needs higher levels to progress to or it becomes stagnate and there is nothing to do. If I have were to have every 6* in the game (I do not) and there were no 7* champions then my roster would be finished. Opening new crystals would be pointless because I would have collected everything there is to collect. Content would either be all beaten, or if it was too hard them remain unbeaten because I couldn't get higher tier champs to go back beat it with.

Also, it sounds like a lot of people are against 7-stars. Not sure Kabam will go that route. These equip-able items (or whatever) that’s supposed to come with the Battlegrounds rewards could possibly replace rarity progression. Or maybe 6-stars will go to Rank 6. Tough to say.

I'm not sure why there's this insane fascination with 7 stars. People have been asking ot wondering about them since 6* were introduced. If they come one day then cool, but no need to rush it. Also we just started seeing more 6r4...why would we need to immediately start seeing r5 materials or even champs. There's no need to rush to the end of the game

I’m not suggesting there is no new level or ceiling to push, and the game stagnates as we have 6*s forever. I’m just suggesting that maybe 7*s won’t be that in the same way that 6*s were.

By the current standard, we would probably see 7*s shards in about a years time that we could start collecting, judging from how soon 6*s came after 5* rank 4s. I think that may be too soon for some players.

I think instead of that, kabam will go for something along the lines of relics as the best ceiling, enabling us to push the vertical progression in that way - in place of 7*s. Then maybe in the future, after a couple of years of relics, that’s when 7*s come, so we can have a break from the normal grind for the next level of stars.

Of course, this assumes relics is a success from the upcoming battlegrounds (I suspect that’s what the next beta will be for, testing relics. Doesn’t make much sense to have another beta so soon, and for a month I think it is, unless they are testing something big)

Don't get me wrong, I am not arguing for 7* now or even soon. I agree with you that if they are indeed the next level of progression we are probably a yearish away from them.

We indeed need to see what the plan for relics is to know what that might look like progression wise. If relics are linked to strikers as was mentioned in the past I would see that as more of a horizontal progression than a vertical one.

Only time will tell what that looks like though.

Yeah, I just feel that if we are a year away from 7*s then that’s too soon. We are literally only just seeing rank 4s for the wider player base. Over the next year, 6* rank 4s will become a little bit more common, but they won’t be as common as R3s are now. I mean, I have 30 rank 3s myself, 2 rank 4s. This time last year, I had many more than 2 rank 3s.

I just feel that if this time next year, 7*s are announced, I’m going to feel really unmotivated to go for them. I will only just feel like I’m settling into my 6* rank 4 roster, maybe having 8-10 or so by then at a rough guess. I won’t want to feel like 7*s are the new goal.

Right now, I personally don’t want to see 7*s for at least 2 years, and even then I’d feel that was too soon. I’d like 6* rank 4s to be the next goal for the next year, and then after that 6* rank 5s and relics for another year and then after that, in 2.5+ years, we get a first tease of 7*s as the next goal. That’s a rough timeline, and not absolute, but I wouldn’t want to feel more rushed than that

There are many people in the game that have 80%, 90%, and higher of all the 6 star champs.

While getting 20 more sigs on some champs is nice... part of the allure of the game is to open something new.

Unless champs come out faster (which I don't recommend given all the fun we have about champs being too bad, too good, and too buggy)... the other option is... 7 star champs.

It is going to happen... but I tend to think we are probably talking something like December this year at the earliest (imagine if gifting event had a 1% chance for 250 7* shards). You'd still need to open an average of 4,000 of them at a cost of $40,000 (in units) to get a 7 star... and then really start rolling it out so people start really getting them around summer 2023.

Also remember a 7 star rank 1 will probably be no better than a 6 star rank 3-4, and the odds of duping one... will be ridiculous for a very long time.

Relics will probably be used in the 1v1 mode. Probably to change the 3 nodes that are active.

Nobody wants to rank up the same champs as 7* that we have as 3, 4 5, and 6*s. How excited will you be for a 7* Drax?? I'll likely call it quits too if they announce 7* too.

At that point; I'd welcome MCOC 2 instead of 7*

That was the same argument people made when 5* and 6* champs were introduced, and yet most people are doing it.

If the vertical progression treadmill is not for you, and that is perfectly fine it isn't for everyone, then when it does eventually happen I hope you find a game that does meet your needs.

Okay , Continuing to your post. Yes , I talked to Kabam Miike and he said me that 6 star Rank 5s are coming soon . Also 7 stars are coming by tomorrow.
Also , 7 stars rank 2 materials will be given for free to everyone , you can check your mail on 32nd March for 7* r2 mats.
Also , 7 stars r3 materials will be given exclusively only to you!
Do remember to check your mails on 31st April for the 7* r3 materials.
