Gaming advise please

I need some help from all you hardcore gamers.
Before downloading mcoc I wasn’t really into gaming but I really enjoyed playing it up until the last couple months and am looking for something else to do in my spare time.
Ideally a console game if anyone has recommendations that would be awesome.
Ps. I don’t have a console either but have been saving for a couple months so advise on which ones is also appreciated 👍🏼

It depends a lot on which types of games you want to play. If you like looter shooters, then I would recommend Tiny Tina's wonderland. It is a fun game, but it does have some language to it. I'm fairly confident you can get it on either Xbox or Playstation.

If you're looking for more kid friendly games, then the Nintendo switch is a pretty good option.

One thing to keep in mind is that most good games will cost somewhere around 50-60 dollars on console. Walmart typically sells Nintendo 60 dollar games at 50.

Honestly if you have a decent laptop or PC then I would play games on that over a console. Steam has great sales so if you're patient enough, you can get some 60 dollar games for only 10 dollars. You can also connect a controller to the PC. However that does come at the detriment that a good PC or laptop costs a lot. Don't buy pre-built PCs because those tend to be poorly made. Building your own PC will be much cheaper, but you need to know what you're doing or know someone who knows what they're doing.

Gaming is a very diverse hobby and it is hard to give recommendations without knowing what type of games you like.

If you haven't played the ps4 classics, playstation plus extra is an absolutely amazing deal. Of course it's best if you could get your hands on a ps5. I won't recommend getting a ps4 upfront, but it's still a great machine and I'll leave it to you to decide if you should pick one up. If you can get a pro for a decent price it's probably a good deal. Another thing that is important for 90% of us is pricing. Even at launch games are cheaper on ps4, and games that are already couple years old you can pick up for quite cheap.

The equivalent for Xbox is Gamepass and I've only heard good things about it but I don't have any experience with xbox myself. Similar for the generational discussion.

Something to mention, these new gen consoles have disc and digital editions. I believe digital xbox is the easiest console to get your hands on.

Those are the standouts, unless you are blessed enough to get your hands on a Steam Deck, that's probably a stretch tho.
