We know OG Thor needs a buff (rework)… how would you update him?

First thing (besides damage and longer buff duration) that jumps out to me is some utility. I view Thor and Hercules as on par with each other, so Thor should have some poison & bleed resistance. Some shock resistance too since it’s Thor. Not to a Hulk level, but somebody else who seems stronger when he’s mad, so maybe a fury if he gets hit, a la Aegon.

His reworked Armor Breaks/Shatter should be tied to hammer hits and not a stun. That always struck me as a dumb way to apply it. I'd also suggest removing his #Metal.

There are several champs far worse than him.

Also, if you’re gonna redesign, make it reasonably different than Ragnarok

Plenty, but not many are as popular as him. I know a lot of people don’t care once you’ve been playing the game for a while, but sucks for a lot of people and especially new players to join the game and find out their favorite op marvel character is mid lol.

I wouldn’t even say it’s mid. The kit might still be somewhat effective but it’s completed outdated.

What I would do with a Thor kit is really bring out Mjölnir and Thor’s relationship with it.

    Let’s give it a shot:

    Passive
Thor is immune to the effects of Shock.
Thor’s physical strength grants him +3500 physical resistance.

    Mjölnir Charges (max 100)
Contact with the opponent has a 30% chance to inflict a Shock debuff, dealing 600 damage over 5 seconds.
While the opponent is under the effects of a Shock debuff, Thor naturally gains 1 Mjölnir charge per debuff tick. Intercepting the opponent grants Thor 5 Mjölnir charges.

    Supercharge
Landing a Heavy Attack grants Thor a Supercharge buff lasting 12 seconds. All Mjölnir charges gained while this buff is active are doubled. Cooldown 12 seconds.

    Power of Thor
Activating a Special Attack at 100 Mjölnir charges increases Thor’s critical rating by +8000. If Power of Thor has been activated, Mjölnir charges are reset to 0.

    Special 1 Attack
100% chance to place 1 Shock debuff on the opponent, dealing 1000 damage and lasting 10 seconds.
Power of Thor: Increase the potency of the Shock debuff by 400%.

    Special 2 Attack
100% chance to place 5 Armor Breaks on the opponent for 12 seconds, each reducing the opponent’s Armor by 1100.
Power of Thor: Gain a Fury buff increasing Attack by +3150 for 12 seconds.

    Special 3 Attack
If at less than 100 Mjölnir charges, gain 50 Mjölnir charges.
Power of Thor: Instantly restore 50 Mjölnir charges. Gain an energize buff increasing Combat Power Rate by 25% for 12 seconds.

    Signature ability: God of Thunder
All personal debuffs are converted into passives.
Shock debuffs or passives prevented by this immunity burn 5% of the opponents power, and deal 500-1800 direct damage.
Contact with the opponent has a 30-100% chance to inflict a Shock debuff.

Love the “power of Thor” increases 👍🏽… I still need some level of resistances though. He can’t be the same level of susceptible to bleed n poison as a human. Even if it’s just 20%, that’s fine. I’d also like some chance to be able to refresh the buffs.

Hit that button that says “revert to pre 12.0”

He is back to pre-12.0, after they let his armor breaks stack again. The problem is the game doesn't work the same way any more. There is no way for Thor to do today what he used to do then, because the game mechanics to do it no longer exist.

If I was making a small tweak, and not a wholesale revamp, I would probably make heavies and special attacks pause armor breaks, and make every armor break inflicted refresh the duration of any existing armor breaks, so aggressive play would allow him to keep his damage from armor breaks more consistently and ramp it up higher.

He can only stack two armor breaks now.

I forgot about the stack limit: I would honestly remove that. Kabam initially hit him twice for no reason: they nerfed his armor break, but they also neutered armor break mechanically at the same time. The mechanical change obviated the need to nerf the actual armor break, but I suspect whoever nerfed the armor break did so without full awareness of the mechanical change (this also happened in other areas, vis-a-vis Captain America's block proficiency and diminishing returns).

The stack limit is probably there out of an overabundance of overcautiousness. Since it was nerfed, there's a hesitation to unnerf it too radically. But the reason why it was nerfed in the first place no longer exists (and hasn't since 12.0). In fact, armor break doesn't even work the same way today as it did when the stacking limit was bumped upward: this has been an area where the mechanics were changed multiple times under the hood.

Just be glad that he didn’t get updated with Thor Jane Foster. You’d probably have a good reason to cry.
