5* Nexus: Argon or Kingpin

Hello there…
With the new EoP offers that allow me to bring a skill champ immediately to 5/65, I was thinking to myself: Great offer, but I don’t have a skill champ that’s worth it… (I am a Cavalier, so I won’t be getting any of the same offer if they drop again).
Now I open a 5* nexus and what do I get? Kingpin and Aegon… (and invisible woman, lol)
So my question is: Who do I choose? I do have a skill awakening gem. No sig stones though, but they will come by, I guess…
As said, I am a Cavalier player and my first goal is to complete Act 6 chapters 2-4 to get to Thronebreaker. I have done one run in LOL in the past but never explored. I have no intention to do the Abyss any time soon…
Also, I have a 6* (unawakened) Guillotine 2099…

Similar to Aegon, I have a unawakened 6* Gulli 2099. (Similar as in: Heavy hitting Combo Ramp Up Monsters with some utility)
Similar to Kingpin: I have a 5/65 sig 80 King Groot (similar as in: Tanky villain with good damage output and reliable healing)
Hope these analogies are somewhat accurate…
Went for Aegon, mainly for 4 reasons:
1. If I ever want to go for the Abyss (don’t think so, but you never know) I’ll bite my butt for not having Aegon.
2. I feel like everything I could do with kingpin, I can also do with King Groot (maybe even better)
3. I have the better Synergy team for Aegon
4. If I pull 6* Kingpin, the 5* version is not as appealing anymore. However, if I pull a 6* Aegon, it will be very long before I can make use of him, because it is harder to ramp up sig levels for a 6*… The 5* version is good enough for most content I guess…
But aegon is the king of the combo.
I suggest kingpin. But chose the wrong option
And I chose Aegon… 😂
Have I made a mistake? Oh well, time will tell…
