I got the 6* awakening gem path twice in a row last week.
A+ job this month Kabam.
Congrats for you - I'm sure that'll make a real difference to your account and if not it's nice to have the gems in the bag for when they are needed.
For me, this month has been a waste so far with regards to SQ. I've gotten candy every time barring once when I got two tier 5 basics. And not pulled any 6* from the side quest Cavs either. The Candy store is a bit on the stingy side too.
You realize that you’re still getting rewards, and better, selectable rewards, when you land on that path right?
I’ve seen tons of people complain about this event, and I think most of the complaints come from misplaced expectations. Maybe it’s sad that someone got better rewards than you, but you literally have the statistics on how often that can happen, and it’s equally likely to happen to you. Getting candy is what you should expect, and anything else should be a cherry on top of the store rewards. Some people will only pull candy, but it’s likely that you’ll get something else on only a few days out of the whole month.
Many people have also complained that there isn’t a selector, stating that past rifts have given us this. In fact, you’re welcome to check my knowledge, but the first rifts didn’t include selectors and those were only introduced later after initial annoyance and typically for money.
I can think of many more things that have been far more frustrating, such as massive bugs in-game, things like the Gauntlet reappearing for some and not others, competitive events with massive botting and piloting, paywalled champs, debatably the OG Act 6 and beta- 7.1, etc.
Completely disagree. Candy shop prices are way out wack. 15k candy for 650 6* shards? Too much. I've gotten candy every single run except today because I haven't done the rift yet. I'll take anything but the candy rift at this point.
I know it's RNG but I'm beyond frustrated at this point that I haven't gotten a different path. All other rift events, I've gotten much more varied path selections, but this event has sucked. I've bought everything valuable in the store and all the crystal shards. Now all that's left that means anything to me is the 6* shards and even then, it's just 650 of them.
The candy store is definitely not better than rift path rewards.
What’s fun is being done with the bottom couple of rows of high end selectable items from the Store and I can now spend candy on…what, really?
Dr. Zola
Exactly .. I'm baffled at this event quite honestly ... first you guarantee that 90% of people will only get candy and then you make a store that is just really underwhelming.
But we do have a choice to not play it so there's that lol

The math brigade is coming for you. I hear the thunder of hooves already.
LOL let them come. Hard to not see the truth behind the countless number of forum posts on the matter. Every time you "rift" there's a 90% chance at candy ... it doesn't assume you've already gotten candy ... every single time you enter is a completely new 90% chance and it will go down as one of the worst events in the game.
90% of people will only get candy on one specific day. Overall, it is not 90% of people who only get candy every single day of the event.
Same way if you flip a coin it’s not a 50% chance to get heads 35 times in a row. You can think whatever you like, but it doesn’t change the reality that 2.5% of people will get candy every day, not 90%. The great thing about maths is it doesn’t change depending on what you believe.
Just remember the bet we have amigo. math won't change your candy destiny in this nor will it change the majority of people's candy destiny lol
i really .. REALLY hope that they share the results of this event and see how many people got nothing but candy daily. i'd wager every day was more than 2.5% of people. it's a very bold statement to suggest 97% of the user base is getting something other than candy every day. especially when you see the narrative here which is very often reflective of how an event is being received.

Please read what I’m saying. This is where the confusion people have on this event is stemming from.
97% of the player base is NOT getting something other than candy EVERY DAY. I have never said that.
90% of the player base are getting candy on any specific day. But over the entire event, if you ask 1,000,000 summoners if they got something other than candy even once throughout the event, 97.5% on average will have got it.
So even if they get candy 34 days, and gold once, they count towards that 97.5%. Because they didn’t get candy every single day.
This is a pretty fundamental base part of the conversation that anyone needs to be able to understand to have an accurate opinion on this event.
97.5% of the player base will get something other than candy 1 or more times out of the 35 attempts.
let's hope the numbers come .. which of course they won't. i don't think that 97.5% would hold up at the end of the event. right now my alliance is batting 99% just candy lol

Sure, I’ll do a poll at the end of the event and see how many people only got candy.
I got the 6* awakening gem path twice in a row last week.
A+ job this month Kabam.
You wouldn't be saying A+ job if you were one of the many who have gotten nothing but candy. This just makes my point; you have pulled two 6* awakening gems for meeting the EXACT SAME requirements as someone who has gotten nothing but candy. You did nothing more than that person, yet you collected a FAR greater prize. Twice.

Exactly. I need gold as well but 20k candy for 200k gold is ridiculous.
The gold price is actually Very stupid! The price for the gold in the lower progression levels is cheaper to what they are giving in the cav and uncollected difficulty…
Also everyone, just a friendly reminder to keep the conversation civil. I'm certain that the mods are watching this discussion like vultures looking for anything they can use to shut it down. Don't give them an excuse.

(Before anyone tries to correct, 0.99^35 = 0.7, so you have a 70% chance to get something that isn’t a gem over the whole month, leaving a 30% chance to get the gem at least once).
One thing I would say is it feels pretty unimaginative to only go down one path the whole month. I’d love to see some variance with the paths, even if they’re similarly “misses”. Maybe each path has 20k candy and a bit of T5B, or some 6* shards just to break up the monotony of the same path every day.

Thus is the nature of RNGeezus games. I feel the same way when people pull a Doom as their first 6* champ while I'm 3 years into my account and still waiting for a 5*.
I see a ton of posts here where players say they are happy with this month because they wound up with 2 6-star awakening gems.
The rewards that people get shouldn't be used to qualify whether a SQ is good or not, even though that END-RESULT thinking is how a lot of players do view it.
For example, Players shouldn't say that SQ is good because they pulled a Hercules from the 6-star crystal. Same thing on the flip side - the SQ is not bad because they pulled an Iron Patriot from the 6-star crystal. The SQ is good/bad because it gave them a 6-star crystal, for a reasonable/challenging effort.
What is really bad about the Rift game design this month is that it shoves the END-RESULT thinking right at the start of the side quest. Who would want to finish a race if they are told immediately after the starting pistol that they are going to end up 7th place regardless of what they do?

You can also see it as being done with the event early. Any other month you'd still have to explore all weeks to get the same amount of 6* shards.
As long as they are dangling the 6* awakening gem, most players won't stop just because candy is no longer useful. I certainly won't.

Better to grind the known, instead of the false hopes of unknown.
False hopes? If anything it's a fixed, guaranteed hope of 10%.
I don't think you know what is guaranteed, guaranteed does not involve percentages
The percentages, if you trust Kabam, are guaranteed. Perhaps you could explain what’s false in this event.
'false' and 'false hopes' are different.
Again, Complete a quest get 10,000 t1a. That's guaranteed. Complete a quest and get 10% chance to get 20Billion 6* shards, that's not guaranteed.
Funny how you understand context when it comes to one word but not the other. Cools.
Funny how you try to manipulate the conversation into your own narrative using one word. mehh
1. I never said the rewards were guaranteed. I said the percentages were. 2. To have false hopes there would have to be some kind of trickery involved in the randomness of the paths. The percentages are clearly specified and getting nothing but candy is possible. So you can have hopes but not false hopes.

Something can either be guaranteed or it isn't. 10% or 90% is not guaranteed. How can you even use the word percentage rng and guaranteed in same context.
The only reward I want is AG. Everything else I can get from somewhere else. Its either 99% Fail or 1% Win and I have the hopes of win the Fools gold.
I got 2 different paths. -2M gold when I had 47M and countless unopened gold crystals. -Got sigs today, I rather take candy instead of 5 sigs. I do decent enough in BGs to buy 30 SIG's weekly with other stuff on the side. Both Paths = Fail
I don't like to use laughter as an argument but I'm laughing at this new name you have given to RNG; "Garanteed Percentage".
Next time someone will whine about rng I'll throw this on their face. Some dude- bro, im having a very bad luck with rng. Me- shut up man, it's guaranteed percentage.
The issue with this SQ is that it's basically like a cavalier crystal (the normal kind not the nexus) and most people will get a 3* most days vs a 5* or 6*.
I personally have gotten a 6* AG, 2 t5b, 1 t5cc and tons & tons of candy (everything except the 2m gold and 10k shards) but I'm still not fond of its design. If the store was better that would've mitigated the drop rates of the paths.

I’d be willing to trade my 30% chance for something approximating OGBW’s 3% chance to evade. 😉

This just makes my point; you have pulled two 6* awakening gems for meeting the EXACT SAME requirements as someone who has gotten nothing but candy. You did nothing more than that person, yet you collected a FAR greater prize. Twice.
2. To have false hopes there would have to be some kind of trickery involved in the randomness of the paths. The percentages are clearly specified and getting nothing but candy is possible. So you can have hopes but not false hopes.
I personally have gotten a 6* AG, 2 t5b, 1 t5cc and tons & tons of candy (everything except the 2m gold and 10k shards) but I'm still not fond of its design. If the store was better that would've mitigated the drop rates of the paths.
