The Level Cap and Energy

For the longest time, energy has been an abundant resource. For those at a lower level of progression, energy consumption really isn't that demanding, simply being 1 or 2 energy per tile per quest. However, for those (roughly) uncollected and beyond, at this point in time, it is no longer simply limited to 2-3 energy per tile per quest. What I'm talking about here is battlegrounds.

For those who do not have Elder Marks, 1 round of battlegrounds costs 15 energy. Now, I understand people don't have to do battlegrounds, but they also don't have to do alliance war (AW) or alliance quest (AQ). However, unlike those other modes, battlegrounds does not have it's own auto-refilling type of energy. We've seen it in AW, we've seen it in AQ, after a certain increment of time you get to move on and progress.

15 energy is an enormous amount of energy simply for 1 round of battlegrounds, especially with the current cap of 70 energy. So I was hoping to propose an alternative for its future. Option 1 in my opinion would be to reduce the energy cost of 1 round of battlegrounds. Another option would be to make energy refills more readily available, either by decreasing its unit cost or by distributing more in the calendar or events or even the battlegrounds store. Another possible option, although less likely would be to make Elder Marks more readily available, similarly through a calendar, or by reducing the unit cost. Alternatively, reducing the amount of Elder Marks required to play a round of battlegrounds.

Another proposition is that another form of energy can be made, given all the other alternatives are not desirable, where it auto refills to a certain limit (similar to how its limited in AW and AQ). Although the caveat with this obviously would probably be that the amount of points earned (in the solo and alliance battleground events) is significantly less when compared to that of normal energy or Elder Marks, namely as it would be freely available.

Looking to the option of making energy more readily available, this doesn't necessarily have to even be through reducing its cost, rather the level cap can be increased beyond 60 (which it currently has been for years). This would not only act as an incentive to people looking to play these modes which consume an abundance of energy, but it would once again add purpose to the much outdated lvl up boosts. Not only that, a level cap increase could serve as a bridge to increasing things such as catalyst inventory caps, which will inevitably be increased when 7*s and their rank up materials (and maybe even artifacts) are released, or even assist in the release for mastery points for masteries 2.0 (given that they're actually ever released).

    Question is if we are willing to accept increased energy cap without being rewarded more mastery points. Kabam don’t want our mastery to be too easy with more points than intended. If I were to work for kabam I would give away more energy cap, but without any extra rewards as there are plenty of rewards around the game to farm.

    Kabam has set the energy in quests, etc, based on 70 energy max.
    If they were to increase that max, then they would adjust future month side quests (and future high level ACTs) to be accordingly longer too.
    And they have already decreased the energy need in lower ACTs, do you want them to re-evaluate those and add some more paths back in ?

    And they have already added allowing Energy to be used in BG, and structured Energy and Elder Mark cost, and the rewards, and how many BG's would give you how much rewards and promotions thru the BG levels.

    Lowering Energy cost would then cause a re-evaluation of how much stuff you get, and how many BG’s you'd need to run, etc.

    They set it at what they want it to be (*for now*).

    Maybe as they have more data to work with, they may make some more adjustments in future. But to just say give us more Energy, or make it cost less Energy, without any other impact, isn’t realistic.

    Without realizing then the points needed for milestones would just get doubled. And as far as competing against others, if everyone just got double anyways it does nothing to help you get higher than others.
