Should Galan be placing incinerates from sp2 even if the hits don't connect? am I missing something?

Went into war using tigra against galan on node 51. We didn't have any better options in our alliance so we just decided to do as much damage as we could with tigra even with the 80% regen of all damage taken.

During the fight, I used tigra's heavy to miss the last three hits of Galan's sp2 and the incinerate still triggered. I read his abilities and did not see anywhere where it states that the incinerates could still trigger without making contact (unless I'm very blind). Is this a bug or is there something I'm missing? Below is the clip for evidence of what happened.

If this is an intended feature of Galan then his descriptions should be made clearer that this can happen

    We have been making posts asking about this since he was released and as far as I am aware no one from Kabam has bothered to respond to it. It is definitely an issue of either a bug with how he works or an error in the description. He has another ability that triggers on activation but as you noted that is not how the SP2 incinerate is worded. It is very frustrating to not be able to get any reply or acknowledgement after all this time.

    Sad that they won’t answer basic questions about what is or is not intended anymore. They used to respond and say they’d ask the game team but apparently they pick and choose what to bring to the game team nowadays.

    i wonder if it is a TIgra thing. Blocking the sp2 des not trigger incinerate. I wonder if "missing" counts as hitting.

    Wouldn't surprise me but a miss should be just that ... a miss 🤷‍♂️ kabam do seem to have their own language and definitions though

    Seems to be any 'miss' mechanic, but interestingly if you block the hit and trigger miss, it doesn't activate incinerate (Miles Morales for example).
