There's a portal on the boss node so after completing all paths the quest is only 98% complete.

And in fact once you beat the boss the quest is done, so you can’t actually go thru that Boss portal anyways.
What gave the 98% is that Gambit used to have 2 portals from him (A going to left, which is still there) and (B going to right).
That Gambit-B portal was a duplicate of the portal from going downward at the beginning.
So people who took Gambit-B in one run, before doing the Downward path portal, ended up still having to do the Downward path, only for 1 single node, even though where it jumps to had already been finished by that earlier Gambit-B run.
So they removed that Gambit-B portal now.
But if that is what you had previously done, you still have to do a “Downward” run to get that final node touched and have it be 100%.
