On average a normal arena crystal gives 3 units per crystal. ON AVERAGE. So in your next 30 crystals you will probably get 180 something units. (I know that is not exactly how it works, it is just a simple example)
It’s really rng. Sometimes you have an unlucky streak and sometimes you get lucky. I do basic arena crystals and open batches of five (10k battlechips). Sometimes I open 30 or more crystals with getting only gold, and sometimes a batch of five gives results like this: 🙂
They are generally horrid when an event requiring them or new champ is out.
The theory that the arena crystals are altered to reduce the odds of units appearing just prior to or during the big sales events is something that is statistically unlikely. I track arena crystal drops, in fact I've logged every arena crystal I've opened since the beginning of 2020. I have enough data to demonstrate the arena crystals have approximately the drop rates published, and those drop rates vary within the reasonable range expected, and the odds do not shift substantially depending on moments when players might otherwise be spending larger numbers of units than average.
If someone wants to point to a couple crystals and claim there's a problem, they are going to need enough data to contradict 2200 UC crystals and 680 TB crystals opened across three and a half years, in almost every month during that period.

I'll take a screenshot next time
My luck's changed..... Another 10 and 15 units.
Time to buy a lottery ticket 🤣
