Is there a time when awakening AA would be BAD idea?

As you've probably guessed, I am thinking about awakening my 6* Archangel. Let me make myself clear:

Archangel is a friggin beast and there is no doubt about his usefulness.

However, I am having some doubts about the awakening. I have a mutant class gem and I could put him to sig 112, but it would mean using up half my sig stones (generic). I also already have a r5 5* sig 112 Archangel. And furthermore, my mutant roster is pretty stacked (r3 Prof, r3 Mags, r2 Bishop, r2 Toad and many more waiting [Emma undupp, Namor undup, Domino dupp, OR dupp,...]). I am a pretty fresh Paragon, gonna explore 8.2 now.

I wanna ask if it makes sense to invest into AA, or if I should save the gem and stick to the 5* one? Thanks in advance

No. Those instances where reduced ability accuracy hurts you are far and few in between. And r3 duped archangel is an investment for the future for you since you never know when the 7* version will come out and when you can dupe him.

AA shouldn't effect Archangel since he's immune

They probably meant AA's own AAR working against him in some fights, like shutting down nodes that are supposed to help you

Yes. That’s exactly what I meant. Thank you.

Don’t hesitate! He shuts down so much annoying bs with his neurotoxins. My first 6* r4 and in some situations i bring both him and his little 5* cousin. Dude’s basically a cheat code.

dump your awakening on him, sig1 AA is enough.

Awake him and put as many signatures on him you can.
AA is always a great investment for awakening gems and signature stones.
I used an awakening gem on mine and brought him at sig200 the day I pulled him. Never regretted that.
Have him at r4 now, and he destroys everything that bleeds and gets poisoned, most times no matter the nodes.

No need for sig 112, sig 60-80 works just fine.

And gems are getting easier to acquire.

Use your gem, but AA really doesn’t need a big sig stone investment. At sig 1, he has a 25% chance to place neuros. Sig 50 it goes to 30%. Sig 112 would be a 33% chance. I think he’s fine at sig 20, or even sig 1.

I disagree. When you use him for some fights Lil Electro, Bishop, Doom, Ibom, Havok, etc. Getting guaranteed aar quickly is a godsend.

How many other mutants deserve sigs more than him?
It’s not worth it though. The AAR go from 25% at sig 1 up to 40% at sig 200 per neuro placed. The difference isn’t that great to justify sig 100+. As far as mutants that benefit more from sig ability I’d say Domino and Omega Red both need high sig much more than AA

There are many times I wish my r4 AA was a higher sig because I need the node shutdown and RNG is only letting me have 2 Neurotoxins at the same time.

I don't get how his sig level is still controversial. From sig 1 to 111, you need 4 neuros and from sig 112 to 200 you need 3. Who's stopping at 3 or 4? No one. So you might as well save the stones and put them somewhere where they'll be more effective.

The sig 112 thing is overblown. You’re discussing situations with exactly 3 neuros. That’s not worth over 100 sigs. Colossus, Storm, Toad and Kitty are all better uses of stones to get to 60ish than taking AA up high. Also, domino.
