Quicksilver vs. Spot - who is better?

These two have a lot in common. Same class, both reliant on AI (both need aggressive one), both need to stack something (Spot Ruptures, QS Whiplashes), their rotation is pretty similar (SP1-SP2, although QS's is subject to discussion).

However, there are also many differences between the two.

Spot isn't much of a utility champ. His main advantage is regen and insanely high damage. His buildup can't be lost, but his burst is heavily influenced by AI RNG. His rotation is quick.

Quicksilver has much more utility compared to Spot. Powercontrol, permanent Slow, evade, bigger dex window etc. His buildup can be completely lost if you mess up. His burst depends a bit on RNG, but not too much. Imo, his damage is a bit lower in comparison to Spot, since his rotation takes a bit longer to execute.

Which brings me to my question: which one of these champs is "better", meaning that if you have both of them, whom do you see yourself using in more situations? I would expect Quicksilver's utility prevail over Spot's burst, but I actually don't know and am really curious what you will say.

Thanks for your answers!

It's tough because the situation in which I would use them are widely different. If I need utility it would be QS without a question. If I don't need to worry about nodes then it would be Spot.

Like you said, Spot doesn't have much utility and that's a big con for him imo. That and the fact that his playstyle can be a little inflexible at times, and absolutely requires you to take hits on the block. I guess one thing he has going for him is that he can deal with shruggers since the ruptures don't need to stick, they just have to apply and that's it. QS on the other hand doesn't have such a strict rotation and doesn't have to build up multiple times against larger healthpools.

Honestly, who's better depends entirely on the match-up.

Quicksilver hands down. Of course I value utility a lot, but I use him very often just as a miss counter alone. For most healthpools you don't even need a specific rotation for him. If you get close to 3 bars of power, and have kept your whiplashes on your opponent, simply MLM into an sp2 and it does insane damage.

The opponent doesn't need to be aggressive either since you refresh your whiplases off of your combos or by simply dexing as well.

I have recently turned a new leaf with spot and very much like him, but quicksilver to me is way more useful.

I understand the "who would I use in more situations" part of the question, and to that I'd say QS, but as to who is "better" I think your comment sums it up pretty well. The many differences between the two champions really make them both worth the resources. From a personal preference standpoint I took up Quicksilver. Some of my alliance mates made the choice for Spot and are also very happy with their decision.

Ive come to love QS a lot more. Spot is more bursty, but QS is more useful. Id go with QSmyself.

Im a qs fan since day 1. I have a r5 qs and r3 spot. I think objectivly qs is better in every content maybe except bg cuz it values speed more. Also the loosing buildup part doesnt even matter for him unless u tryna burst down a regen champ. U can just detonate your whiplashes however u want.

QS has so many utilities countering very annoying mechanics - evade, unstoppable, miss, stupid power gain. He has reliable evade when you need the most. His healthpool is great. We all know about his whiplash dmg.
I don't have any difficulty doing his rotation in act 8 at all. Ppl think fights with him are long mostly because his combo has 13 hits, which makes it seem lengthy. If you worry about refreshing whiplash debuffs with 2nd medium atk, remember his dexterity also does the same thing.
