But, are your other 2 BG's running higher maps that DO cost tickets ?

I forget whether the last changes set it up so that EVERYONE is paying that spread-out entry cost (across all BG's) ? Or ONLY those people who actually enter the higher # map BG's ?

The ticket cost is spread evenly across the BGs so that no one is paying someone else’s ride to better rewards. My guess is that this is a 2 BG alliance and the other map they’re running is map 7, in which case 15 tickets per entry split would result in a cost of 7 for lesser map players.

If a low participating alliance wants to lower the cost for Map-7, they can add BG 2 and 3 to run lowly no-cost maps. So doing Map-7 only costs 1/2 or 1/3 as much as for other FULL Participating alliances.

Sounds like maybe you already got 10 joined in BG1, so we’re hoping to jump into one of the other groups just to claim rewards for the day. If you want the rewards for that BG1 Map-7 completion, you gotta pay a little bit.
Still lower cost that if you had to pay full price going into a Map-7

What's been happening is there are 2 or 3 of us playing AQ, and AW out of 11 people so I just made our Map 2 and a different map for a different picture. I didn't realize that it would cost tickets. That's why in my pic it showed map 2 at 7 tickets and I think it should have been free.

I do a lower map cause it's my Beer League or 2nd account I'm slowly building up.

It’s not that map 2 costs tickets, it’s that map 7 does. Back when maps required entry costs of loyalty, gold and battlechips, alliances would evenly distribute the cost across all alliance members. Everyone was getting the same rewards, so it was only fair that everyone pay the same cost, even if you’re running a lower map. When they first introduced the ticket system, only the maps with a ticket cost would charge. This meant some alliance members were on the hook for 15-30 tickets while those doing a lower map no longer had a cost to participate in AQ. But everyone was still getting the same rewards, so it wasn’t fair that only some alliance members had to pay the way for others to reap the benefit. So they corrected the system to evenly distribute the cost to all alliance members since all alliance members are gaining the same rewards.
Yes, not realizing that or not knowing that beforehand is clearly a shock, but it’s the best way the system can work. Drop that map 7 group to map 6 and you’ll eliminate your cost.

I understand that, and it's fair for those rewards that you should pay if you aren't playing the map.

I had zero tickets and I knew no one was going to play the higher map. What I didn't know or even thought about was if there would be a cost.

The highest map I've ever done was Map 6 with my main account a year ago or so.

Ok, so you started a Map-7 for one group, just to get a sense of it, or try out a path, or even if just to Preview it without actually joining it.

So you didn’t actually have a whole BG completing it for any rewards.

I see, yep. (in that case, you could open up a 3rd BG, also on lower map, that would drop the entry cost from 7 down to 5, split 3 ways instead of 2 ways). I would just do Preview during initial Setup to take a look at a Map 7 or 8, but don’t actually lock in a 7 or 8 during setup.
