Cassie compensation well deserved

I’m not one to expect compensation in most cases. However, I and many others didn’t r4 Cassie until the initial post saying she was good and would be left as is.
So then I r4 her (and really enjoy her) to find out a few days later kabam has gone back on their word.
Kinda feels like a rank down opportunity is in order. I don’t even know if I’d rank her down, but I feel the community deserves that option in this case.

with inequity she reached 86% damage reduction with the taunt up.

This is some of those situations where honestly I’m not sure which side I land on. I will say though that I understand where OP is coming from and this is one of those situations where she may have been ranked up not realizing there was a bug in place.

I get where you’re coming from, and Kabam definitely needs some better QC, but I don’t think compensation makes sense here.

Her damage reduction ability says 40%, but has been operating at 90%. You ranked her when her description said 40%, and even though she functioned differently, they’re only adjusting her so as to match the stated value in the description.

I think it’s a good move by Kabam to increase the DR to 50%, which can still result in up to 86% DR. Functionally, you’ll only lose 4% DR if you’re using the right masteries. I think it’s a pretty fair fix by Kabam, which results in a better kit then what her current one is meant to be.

You’re not wrong. I just feel like so many ranked her up based on her performance. The performance we were told was being left as is. Her biggest use for me is the mean mystics on hazard shift with the taunt up… just not so sure how she will handle it after the update in Sep.

Throw in the additional percentage from the Ant Man relic and she can get the extra 4%. I have her at r4 as well. It'd be nice if they can get her whiffs fixed. It was mentioned that they are aware, but I don't see it anywhere on Trello. Still a great champ though.

If they fix that whiff bug at least i can take that trade for 50% taunt reduction.
This champ has so much other science utility and dmg combined, for me that already broken.

That doesnt change at all. the 90% damage reduction will change. Now if you want to get that overpowered damage reduction, you need inequity.

90% damage reduction from the base kit is super overpowered for game balance. A r5 Cassie would have the effective healthpool of 700k unboosted with that damage reduction. That damage reduction is also completely free.

While the intent was for Cassie to be a tanky science champion, that tankiness was supposed to require an investment in the inequity mastery. You only need 1 point invested in inequity to easily get the damage reduction + you're going to have the 36% damage reduction pretty much full time while the taunt isn't active.

TL:DR kabam wanted you to have to invest in masteries to reach those levels of damage reduction.

1. people are forgetting that the 90% was in place when released. Meaning we all fought through February EQ when she was applying that 90% reduction.

2. June 2nd they say she's working as intended. Then june 9th they magically figure out she's applying 50% more additional reduction.

This does warrant some type of compensation. They say the balancing program was to give players peace of mind when ranking champs. Players wait for these posts to rank. Only to find out they'll still mess with these champs. They should not have used the balancing title if it's a bug fix. And they should have acknowledged her other bugs in this post if they talking about bugs.

Most people just play the champ and when they see how they perform, base their rank up choices accordingly. We're not all pulling out calculators and damage models lol.

I say give people compensation or whatever rank tickets for this champ no matter the significance of the change.

Exactly… 2nd paragraph says it all and the fact that I did wait for balance update (when they said she was good to go.)
Again, I’m not even sure I’d rank her down cuz I enjoy her, she’s fun, and will probably still be a solid science champ. But it seems to me that we should at least have the option in this particular case

Watch them fix the whiffing issue as soon as whiffs start dealing 300k damage.

This feels VERY similar to the Moleman situation.

Had Kabam communicated early, we could've avoided this situation.

I agree with the mathematician statement. If we look at it from the perspective that everyone who pulled her got their hands on what she is meant to be, without having to invest anything (inequity or the relic). It's a much different situation than, say MM. Everyone knew the frenzy/true strike issue. Despite the RDT's given, he's still a great skill champ.

As for rank downs with Cassie, I just don't see it. People can still achieve the 90% reduction pretty easily if you keep the power stings up. That's the key here. If we couldn't get back to the 90%, then that would be an issue. Grab your popcorn, lol. I'm sure it will be a perfectly smooth process and release in August.
